The Hand (1981 Film)
''The Hand'' is a 1981 American psychological horror film written and directed by Oliver Stone, based on the novel ''The Lizard's Tail'' by Marc Brandel. The film stars Michael Caine and Andrea Marcovicci. Caine plays Jon Lansdale, a comic book artist who loses his hand, which in turn takes on a murderous life of its own. The original film score is by James Horner, in one of his earliest projects. Warner Bros. released the movie on DVD on September 25, 2007. Plot Jon Lansdale is a comic book illustrator, whose relationship with his beautiful wife Anne and daughter Lizzie is in danger. While driving, Anne and Lansdale end up behind a slow-moving truck and an impatient driver behind them. Oliver Stone
William Oliver Stone (born September 15, 1946) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. Stone won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay as writer of '' Midnight Express'' (1978), and wrote the gangster film remake '' Scarface'' (1983). Stone achieved prominence as writer and director of the war drama ''Platoon'' (1986), which won Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture. Mara Hobel
Mara Hobel (born June 18, 1971) is an American actress. She is best known for her portrayal of young Christina Crawford in the film ''Mommie Dearest'', starring Faye Dunaway. She garnered 2 Razzie nominations for her performance. She also portrayed the crazed tap-dancing daughter Gay in the legendary Broadway bomb, ''Moose Murders'', which opened and closed on the same night in 1983. Hobel played the recurring character Charlotte Tilden for one season on the television series ''Roseanne'' from 1992 to 1993. Barry Windsor-Smith (born Barry Smith, 25 May 1949) is a British comic book illustrator and painter whose best known work has been produced in the United States. Conan The Barbarian
Conan the Barbarian (also known as Conan the Cimmerian) is a fictional sword and sorcery hero who originated in pulp magazines and has since been adapted to books, comics, films (including '' Conan the Barbarian'' and '' Conan the Destroyer''), television programs (animated and live-action), video games, and role-playing games. Animatronics
Animatronics refers to mechatronic puppets. They are a modern variant of the automaton and are often used for the portrayal of characters in films and in theme park attractions. It is a multidisciplinary field integrating puppetry, anatomy and mechatronics. Animatronic figures can be implemented with both computer and human control, including teleoperation. Motion actuators are often used to imitate muscle movements and create realistic motions. Figures are usually encased in body shells and flexible skins made of hard and soft plastic materials and finished with colors, hair, feathers and other components to make them more lifelike.
