The Great Outdoors (film)
''The Great Outdoors'' is a 1988 American comedy film directed by Howard Deutch, written and produced by John Hughes (filmmaker), John Hughes, and starring Dan Aykroyd and John Candy with supporting roles done by Stephanie Faracy, Annette Bening (in her film debut), Chris Young (actor), Chris Young, Lucy Deakins, and Robert Prosky. It tells the story of two families spending their week-long vacation at a lake resort in the fictional town of Pechoggin, Wisconsin with hilarious outcomes. Aykroyd, Candy, and Young reprise their roles from Hughes' previous film, ''She's Having a Baby''. The film was met with mixed reviews and has gained a cult following. Chris Young (actor)
Christopher Tyler Young is an American actor, producer and director, best known for portraying child prodigy computer hacker Bryce Lynch in the ''Max Headroom'' (1987–1988), and Buckley "Buck" Ripley in ''She's Having a Baby'' and '' The Great Outdoors'' (both 1988), and voicing Rob in ''The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars'' (1988) and ''The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue'' (1989). Howard Deutch (born September 14, 1950) is an American film and television director who worked in collaboration with filmmaker John Hughes, directing two of Hughes's best-known screenplays, ''Pretty in Pink'' and '' Some Kind of Wonderful''. Since 2011, he has primarily directed television productions, including multiple episodes of '' Getting On'' and ''True Blood''. Early life and career Deutch was born in New York City. His parents are Pamela (née Wolkowitz) and Murray Deutch, a music executive and publisher. His uncle is actor Robert Walden (who is his mother's brother). Deutch was raised in a Jewish family. A&W Restaurants is an American fast food restaurant chain distinguished by its burgers, draft root beer and root beer floats. Being the oldest restaurant chain in America, A&W's origins date back to 1919 when Roy W.
