''The Girl from the Third Row'' (Swedish: Flickan frÃ¥n tredje raden) is a 1949 Swedish comedy film directed by Hasse Ekman. Plot An extraordinary ring is being handed down amongst many people. They find it and lose it or give it away, but the ring always gives each owner good fortune or hope in some way. An angel watches over the ring and the people wearing it. Hasse Ekman (born Hans Gösta Ekman; 10September 191515February 2004) was a Swedish director, actor, writer and Film producer, producer for film director, film, Theatre director, stage and television director, television. Biography Hasse Ekman is probably Sweden's most successful and critically acclaimed film director from the period after Victor Sjöström, Sjöström and Mauritz Stiller, Stiller and prior to Ingmar Bergman, peaking between the mid-1940s and 1950. He was greatly influenced by filmmaker Orson Welles and also by episodic-films. Biography She was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, the daughter of Alma (née Ärnström) and Erik Hiort af Ornäs. She had a brother, Torbjorn. Knut Gunnar Johanson (13 November 1909 – 24 May 1986) was a Swedish actor known for his frequent work with writer and director Ingmar Bergman. Biography Björnstrand was born Knut Gunnar Johanson in Stockholm as son of actor Oscar Johanson and Ella Mauléon. After his education at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school, he made several appearances in theatre, film and radio. Björnstrand's first collaboration with Ingmar Bergman was the 1941 theatre production of August Strindberg's ''The Ghost Sonata''.
