''The Flame of Life'' (also known as ''That Lass o' Lowrie's'') is a 1923 American silent drama film starring Priscilla Dean, Robert Ellis (actor, born 1892), Robert Ellis, Kathryn McGuire, and Wallace Beery. The film was written by Elliott J. Clawson from the Frances Hodgson Burnett novel ''That Lass o' Lowrie's'' and directed by Hobart Henley. A print of ''The Flame of Life'' is currently housed in the NBCUniversal Syndication Studios archives, but is available for the company's internal research and referencing purposes only and is not available to the general public. Plot As described in a film magazine, Joan Lowrie (Dean) is one of the beasts of burden making up the population of the little English mining village. Hobart Henley (born Hess Manassah Henle; November 23, 1887 – May 22, 1964) was an American silent film actor, Film director, director, screenwriter and producer. He was involved in over 60 films either as an actor or director or both in his twenty-year career, between 1914 and 1934 when he retired from filmmaking. Early life Henley was born Hess Manassah Henle in Louisville, Kentucky, to Samuel Henle, a German immigrant and retailer, and his wife Clementine. His father moved the family to Cincinnati, Ohio, where Henley later attended and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Richard Daniels Jr. (October 11, 1914 – August 20, 1970) known professionally as Mickey Daniels, was an American actor. Signed by Hal Roach in 1921, he was, along with Joe Cobb, Jackie Condon, Jackie Davis, Mary Kornman, and Ernie Morrison, a regular in the popular ''Our Gang'' comedies during the silent era of the series, between 1922 and 1926. Early life and career Daniels was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the son of Welsh-born American actor Richard Daniels and his wife Hannah. In 1921, Daniels was discovered by a talent scout while performing at an amateur night at the Rialto Theatre in Rock Springs. Shortly thereafter, he was signed by Hal Roach to appear in the ''Our Gang'' film series. The red-haired, freckle-faced Daniels was one of the lead characters in the ''Our Gang'' film shorts from 1922 to 1926.
