Jan Schütte
Jan Schütte (born 26 June 1957) is a German film director and screenwriter. He has directed twelve films since 1982. His film '' The Farewell'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival. After graduating from high school, he studied literature, philosophy and art history in Tübingen, Zurich and Hamburg. From 1979 he worked as a television reporter for regional TV programs. His first feature film ' premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 1987. Schütte was director of the German Film and Television Academy and is the director of the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Schütte lives with his wife Christina Szápáry in Los Angeles and Berlin. Ruth Berlau
Ruth Berlau (24 August 1906, Charlottenlund – 15 January 1974, East Berlin) was a Danish actress, director, photographer and writer, known for her collaboration with Bertolt Brecht and for founding the Bertolt-Brecht-Archiv in Berlin. Born to a merchant family, she learned French at a convent school, but had to drop out due to a pregnancy at the age of thirteen. She studied acting and established her Danish reputation playing Anna in Brecht's ''Drums in the Night''. During her teenage years, she financed a bicycle tour of France, by writing up a somewhat fictionalized account of her travels for a Danish newspaper. In 1930, she toured the Soviet Union by bicycle, and on her return joined the Communist Party of Denmark. Later she took part behind the front lines in the Spanish Civil War. Peter Palitzsch (11 September 1918 – 18 December 2004) was a German theatre director. He worked with Bertolt Brecht in his Berliner Ensemble from the beginning in 1949, and was in demand internationally as a representative of Brecht's ideas. He was a theatre manager at the Staatstheater Stuttgart and the Schauspiel Frankfurt. Many of his productions were invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen festival. Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (; 1 August 10 BC – 13 October AD 54) was the fourth Roman emperor, ruling from AD 41 to 54. Manfred Wekwerth
Manfred Wekwerth (né Weckwerth; 3 December 1929 – 16 July 2014) was a German theatre and film director and writer. He was the director of the Berliner Ensemble theatre from 1977 to 1991. He was also an informant for East Germany's Stasi from 1965 until the German reunification. Wekwerth was born in Köthen, Saxony-Anhalt. He was married to Renate Richter until his death. Birgit Minichmayr (born 3 April 1977) is an Austrian actress born in Linz, Austria. She studied drama at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. For her work in Maren Ade's film Everyone Else she won Silver Bear for Best Actress at 59th Berlin International Film Festival.
