Dark Moor is a Spanish symphonic power metal band from Madrid. Formed in 1993, they produced three full-length albums before undergoing a line-up change in which three members left the band to form their own project, Dreamaker. Afterwards, the band continued under the same name, recruiting suitable replacements in time for their eponymous 2003 album. Since 2002, guitarist Enrik Garcia has been the band's sole remaining founding member. Background Dark Moor was formed in 1993 in Madrid, Spain, and recorded their debut album, '' Shadowland'', in the summer of 1999. Dark Moor played live supporting Demons and Wizards on their Spanish tour. Dark Moor began the recording sessions for their second album, '' The Hall of the Olden Dreams'', in August 2000 at New Sin Studios with producer Luigi Stefanini. Symphonic Metal
Symphonic metal is a cross-generic style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements. The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra, or just keyboard orchestration. Symphonic metal bands can feature classically trained vocalists, in which case they can be attributed nicknames such as opera metal or operatic metal. Helloween
Helloween is a German power metal band founded in 1984 in Hamburg by members of bands Iron Fist, Gentry, Second Hell and Powerfool. Its first lineup consisted of singer and guitarist Kai Hansen, bassist Markus Grosskopf, guitarist Michael Weikath and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg. By the time Hansen quit Helloween in 1989 to form Gamma Ray, the band had evolved into a five-piece, with Michael Kiske taking over as lead vocalist. Schwichtenberg and Kiske both parted ways with Helloween in 1993; Schwichtenberg died two years later as the result of suicide. Between then and 2016, there had been numerous line-up changes, leaving Grosskopf and Weikath as the only remaining original members. Elisa Martin
Elisa C. Martin (born 3 August 1972) is a Spanish singer. She has served as a vocalist in several European power metal bands, including Dark Moor, Dreamaker, and Fairyland. Career Elisa started singing in metal bands when she was only 12 years old. She formed a few Spanish bands: Necrópolis, Five Cross and Sabatan, which she recorded two E.P's for in 1994, but the band split up and Elisa entered Dark Moor. With Dark Moor she recorded two demos until 1997, when the band signed a contract with the Spanish label ‘Arise Records’ and recorded their first album '' Shadowland''. In 1998 the second album ''The Hall of the Olden Dreams'' was released and in the same year she recorded an EP ''The Fall of Melnibone'', which features unpublished songs, covers from other bands and bonus tracks from Japan.
