''The Dream'' is the seventh album from American Christian rock band Sanctus Real, released by Sparrow Records on October 14, 2014. Sanctus Real worked with producers Pete Kipley and Christopher Stevens in the creation of this album. Reception Indicating in a four star out of five review for AllMusic, David Jeffries mentioning, Sanctus Real are "Mellowing with age but as robust as ever, The Dream proves that Sanctus Real might very well be Christian rock's version of fine wine." Andy Argyrakis, agrees it is a four star album for '' CCM Magazine'', declaring "Sanctus Real continues to shuffle up its established pop/rock sound with elements as diverse as dusty guitars, synthesizers and varied background vocals." Contemporary Christian music, also known as CCM, Christian pop, and occasionally inspirational music is a genre of modern popular music, and an aspect of Christian media, which is lyrically focused on matters related to the Christian faith and stylistically rooted in Christian music. Sparrow Records is a Christian music record label and a division of Universal Music Group. History Sparrow Records was founded in 1976 by Billy Ray Hearn, then artists and repertoire (A&R) director at Myrrh Records. Peter Charles Kipley (born May 1970) is an American Christian musician, record producer and songwriter. He has been awarded four GMA Dove Awards. He started Simple Records, with Bart Millard of MercyMe, where they signed as their first act, The Afters. He was awarded the SESAC's Christian Songwriter of the Year, in 2004. Christopher Stevens (born November 29, 1967), was an American record producer, mix-engineer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville, Tennessee. Early and personal life Stevens was born Christopher Edmund Stevens, on November 29, 1967, in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated from North Eugene High School and studied electronics at Lane Community College. After working as a composer for video games in the 1990s, Stevens eventually relocated to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue songwriting and record production full-time.
