The Devil's Wedding Night
''The Devil's Wedding Night'' ( it, Il plenilunio delle vergini, lit=Full Moon of the Virgins) is a 1973 Italian horror film. Plot Two rival brothers are looking for the magic ring of the Nibelungen, a mystical jewel that confers all power to the one who possesses it. The first, Karl, is an archaeologist who wishes to give it to an archaeological institute; the second, Franz, is a materialist who wants to appropriate it to be rich and powerful. Franz, after having read Karl's research, travels to the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania, to the ancient castle of Count Dracula. The innkeeper's daughter tells him that on the first full moon night of the summer that five virgin girls from the village are chosen by the powers of evil and taken to the castle to be sacrificed, and that the place is infested with vampires. Luigi Batzella
Luigi Batzella (San Sperate, 1924 – San Sperate, 2008) also known as Paolo Solvay was an Italian film director, editor, screenwriter and actor. He made numerous low-budget genre films. Life and career Luigi Batzella was born in San Sperate, Sardinia in 1924. After what film historian and critic Roberto Curti described as "a nondescript career as an actor," Batzella began his career as a director in 1966 with the war film '' Tre franchi die pietà''. After directing a few low budget westerns, Batzella directed his first horror film ''The Devil's Wedding Night'' which was directed with an uncredited Joe D'Amato. Bruno Mattei
Bruno Mattei (30 July 1931 – 21 May 2007) was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and editor who directed exploitation films in many genres, including women in prison, nunsploitation, zombie, mondo, cannibal, and Nazisploitation films. Mattei's films often followed popular genre trends of the era. Mattei continued work as a director primarily in the Philippines until his death in 2007, just before he was to enter production on his fifth Zombie film. Biography Bruno Mattei was born on 30 July 1931 in Rome, Italy. Mattei grew up around films as his father owned a film editing studio. He studied at the Centro Sperimentale Centrale, the national film school, and graduated in 1951. Mattei initially worked as a screenwriter and claimed to have worked on over 100 films as an editor, a claim that film historian Louis Paul stated was "difficult to verify".
