The Devil's Mistress (2016 Film)
''The Devil's Mistress'' is a 2016 Czech–Slovak historical biography film directed by Filip Renč and produced by Jiří Jurtin. The film stars the Slovak actress Tatiana Pauhofová who plays Lída Baarová, the mistress of Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. Lída Baarová was a star actress in Czechoslovakia, later moving to Germany to appear in the film ''Barcarole''. There, she would be roped into the life of Joseph Goebbels and into the political lives of the Nazi Party elite. Synopsis and summary The film largely centers around the experiences of Lída Baarová and her feelings regarding the moral dilemma of being romantically involved with a senior Nazi officer. Political and social turmoil within the early Nazi Germany are also shown, with the ending of the film featuring the events of Kristallnacht. Filip Renč
Filip Renč (born 17 August 1965) is a Czech film director, screenwriter, and actor. Biograph Filip Renč was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Since his childhood, he already proved his enthusiasm for movies and drama. As a young boy he appeared in several movies, including ''Julek'' (1980) and ''Leve kridlo'' (1983). During his studies at FAMU (Film and TV School of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague) he created documentaries (Zapadákov, Srdíčko) for which he was awarded at the International film schools festival in 1987 and 1988. His debut movie ''Requiem for a Maiden'' was also a great success at the Czechoslovakian film festival FORUM in Bratislava. Ondřej Soukup
Ondřej Soukup (born 2 May 1951) is a Czech musician and composer. He has written soundtracks for over twenty feature films, including Jan Svěrák's ''Kolya'', an Academy Awards, Academy Award-winner for best foreign film in 1997, and ''Dark Blue World'', for which Soukup received his second Czech Lion award for best soundtrack, in 2001. He was also a jury member for the talent show ''Česko hledá SuperStar''. Career Soukup graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 1975, then played bass in various jazz and pop bands, including Pražský výběr and Pavel Fořt's group Labyrint. Miloš Havel
Miloš Havel (3 November 1899 – 25 February 1968) was a Czech film producer and studio executive. Havel was a director of the film production company Lucernafilm, which was founded by his father in 1912. He was also a chairman of the film studio A-B, which built its new studios in Barrandov in 1932. He remained in charge of the studio during German occupation of Czechoslovakia. After World War II his wartime activities were criticized heavily, and he was put on trial for charges relating to collaboration with Nazi Germany. Though acquitted, he was banned from working in the film industry. He left the country and settled in Munich. He was the uncle of Czech president Václav Havel. Magda Goebbels
Johanna Maria Magdalena "Magda" Goebbels (née Ritschel; 11 November 1901 – 1 May 1945) was the wife of Nazi Germany's Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels. A prominent member of the Nazi Party, she was a close ally, companion, and political supporter of Adolf Hitler. Some historians refer to her as the unofficial "first lady" of Nazi Germany, while others give that title to Emmy Göring. Martin Huba (born 16 July 1943 in Bratislava) is a Slovak actor and director on stage and in film. In 1964 he graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU).
