''The Dark World'' ( tr, Karanlık Dünya), also known as ''Aşık Veysel'ın Hayatı'', is a 1953 Turkish biographical drama film directed by Metin Erksan, and written by Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu. It stars Âşık Veysel Âşık Veysel (born Veysel Şatıroğlu; 25 October 1894 – 21 March 1973) was a Turkish people, Turkish Alevism, Alevi ashik and highly regarded poet of the Turkish folk literature. Metin Erksan
İsmail Metin Erksan (1 January 1929 – 4 August 2012) was a Turkish people, Turkish film director and art historian. Biography Erksan was born in Çanakkale. Following his graduation from Pertevniyal High School in Istanbul, he studied art history at Istanbul University. Starting in 1947, he wrote in various newspapers and magazines on cinema. In 1952, he debuted in directing with the films ''Karanlık Dünya'' and ''Aşık Veysel’in Hayatı'' written by Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu. He directed two documentary films in 1954 with the title ''Büyük Menderes Vadisi''. Metin Erksan gained success with films depicting the problems of people from the countryside he adopted from the literature. ''Susuz Yaz'' won the Golden Bear Award in Berlin, Germany. Âşık Veysel (born Veysel Şatıroğlu; 25 October 1894 – 21 March 1973) was a Turkish people, Turkish Alevism, Alevi ashik and highly regarded poet of the Turkish folk literature. Orhan Ghazi ( ota, اورخان غازی; tr, Orhan Gazi, also spelled Orkhan, 1281 – March 1362) was the second bey of the Ottoman Beylik from 1323/4 to 1362. He was born in Söğüt, as the son of Osman I.
