"''The Danish Way to Rock''" is a Danish language 2010 FIFA World Cup theme song for Denmark and a hit single by Danish band Nephew featuring Landsholdet (meaning "the national team" in Danish). The song went straight into #1 in the Tracklisten, the Danish Singles Chart. "The Danish Way to Rock" was a song written in Danish (despite its English language title) by Nephew band member Simon Kvamm and music by the band Nephew and arranged and produced by Nephew and Carsten Heller. The song was released in cooperation with the Dansk Boldspil-Union (DBU), the Danish Football Association for the support of the 2010 Denmark national football team. Recording The song was recorded on 1 March 2010. That day, the members of the Danish band Nephew and vocalist Simon Kvamm and guitarist Kristian Riis accompanied by song producer Carsten Heller travelled to Vienna, Austria, where the Denmark national team was scheduled to compete and briefed the team of the song and their part. Nephew (band)
Nephew is a Danish rock band formed in 1996 in Aarhus, Denmark. The band consists of Simon Kvamm (lead vocals, keyboards, songwriting), Kristian Riis (guitar, backing vocals), Søren Arnholt (drums, backing vocals), Kasper Toustrup (bass guitar), René Munk Thalund (keyboards), and Marie Højlund (vocals, keyboards, guitar). The band uses a mixture of Danish and English in their lyrics; most of the band's early songs were in English with minimal Danish lyrics, but the band has since moved to primarily Danish vocals. Nicklas Bendtner
Nicklas Bendtner (; born 16 January 1988) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a forward. His preferred position was centre-forward, but he has also played on the right side of attack, and occasionally on the left. Daniel Monberg Jensen (born 25 June 1979) is a Danish former professional footballer. A central midfielder, he was known for making good passes in the final third of the field. Kristian Dirks Riis (born 17 February 1997) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Danish Superliga club Lyngby Boldklub. Club career Early career Riis started career at the local club Haderslev FK. Later, he joined SønderjyskE, playing there until 2011, before joining FC Midtjylland at the age of 15 in 2011.
