''The Csardas Princess'' (German: ''Die Czardasfürstin'') is a 1927 German-Hungarian silent romance film directed by Hanns Schwarz and starring Liane Haid, Imre Ráday and Ferenc Vendrey.Grange p.252 It is based on the 1915 operetta '' The Csardas Princess'', the title referring to the popular Hungarian Csárdás dance. It was shot at the Babelsberg Studios in Berlin. Hanns Schwarz
Hanns Schwarz (11 February 1888 – 27 October 1945) was an Austrian Empire, Austrian film director. He was born in Vienna on 11 February 1888. Biography He directed twenty four films between 1924 and 1937 in both English-language, English and German-language, German. During the late silent film, silent and early sound era, sound eras, he was a leading director at the large German studio Universum Film AG, UFA. In the early 1930s he worked on several Multiple-language version, multi-language version films for UFA, producing the same films in distinct German and foreign-language versions. Schwarz was Jewish and was therefore forced to leave Germany in 1933 when the Nazis took over, going into exile in Britain. His last film was the 1937 British thriller ''Return of the Scarlet Pimpernel''. He died in California on 27 October 1945. The kulshedra or kuçedra is a water, storm, fire and chthonic demon in Albanian mythology and folklore, usually described as a huge multi-headed female serpentine dragon. The kulshedra is believed to spit fire, cause drought, storms, flooding, earthquakes and other natural disasters against mankind. In Albanian mythology she is usually fought and defeated by a drangue, a semi-human winged divine hero and protector of mankind. Heavy thunderstorms are thought to be the result of their battles. Gyula Zilahy (22 January 1859, Zilah – 16 May 1938, Budapest) was a Hungarian stage and film actor. He co-directed several films with Alexander Korda in 1914-1915 including Korda's first film ''Watchhouse in the Carpathians''.
