Brigitte Horney
Brigitte Horney (, 29 March 1911 – 27 July 1988) was a German theatre and film actress. Best remembered was her role as Empress Katherine the Great in the 1943 version of the UFA film version of '' Baron Münchhausen'', directed by Josef von Báky, with Hans Albers in the title role. Life and work Brigitte Horney was born and grew up in Dahlem, Berlin, the daughter of noted psychoanalyst Karen Horney. She was, for more than a decade, engaged with Berlin's Volksbühne. When she accepted the starring role in the highly popular film '' Love, Death and the Devil'' (1934), a new star was born with the ''Leitmotif'' song "So oder so ist das Leben". Horney was a good friend of the actor Joachim Gottschalk and appeared in four films with him. Petra Unkel (3 March 1925 – 2001), also known as Petra Unkel-Klinder, was a Hungarian-born actress of German film, singer, voice actress, radio spokesperson and cabaret artist, who was active in the industry from 1929 until 1958. Life and career Unkel was born in Budapest, in what was then the Kingdom of Hungary, as the daughter of opera tenor Petra Unkel (1880–1942), Unkel started became her career as a child star. She made her debut appearance on screen in 1929 as a four-year-old during the silent film era, in ''Napoleon at Saint Helena'', starring Werner Krauss as Napoleon. Paul Henckels
Paul Henckels (9 September 1885 – 27 May 1967) was a German film and stage actor. He appeared in more than 230 films between 1921 and 1965. Paul Henckels had started his acting career on the stage in the 1900s. He was well known for his eccentric, colourful roles and his trademark Rhineland accent. Among his most popular roles were the school teacher Professor Bömmel in ''Die Feuerzangenbowle'' (1944) and the veterinarian Dr. Pudlich in the "Immenhof film series" during the 1950s. He was also notable as a stage actor and appeared at the Schauspielhaus Berlin for many years. His most popular stage role was '' Wibbel the Tailor'', which he played more than 1000 times. Henckel's father was Jewish, and he was thus a "half-Jew" by the rules of the Nazis. As a rare exception, Henckels was nonetheless allowed to work during the Third Reich.
