''The City of Your Final Destination'' is a 2009 American romantic drama film directed by James Ivory and starring Anthony Hopkins, Laura Linney, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Omar Metwally, Hiroyuki Sanada and Norma Aleandro. It was written by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala and based on the eponymous novel by Peter Cameron. The film is the first Merchant Ivory film production without the participation of producer Ismail Merchant and composer Richard Robbins. Also, it is to date the last film directed by Ivory. Synopsis Graduate student Omar Razaghi (Omar Metwally) wishes to write a biography on obscure writer Jules Gund, who died years before. Omar must travel to Uruguay to persuade the Gund family to authorize the biography. James Ivory
James Francis Ivory (born June 7, 1928) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. For many years, he worked extensively with Indian-born film producer Ismail Merchant, his domestic as well as professional partner, and with screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala. All three were principals in Merchant Ivory Productions, whose films have won seven Academy Awards; Ivory himself has been nominated for four Oscars, winning one. Arturo Goetz
Arturo L. Goetz (24 June 1944 – 28 July 2014) was an Argentine film actor. He worked in the cinema of Argentina. He studied for a Doctor of Philosophy degree in economics at Jesus College, Oxford, from 1971 to 1974, and published his findings on Argentine industrialization in 1976. Whilst at Jesus College, he played football for the college team and polo for the university team. After leaving Oxford, he worked as an economist at the United Nations in Geneva, and then at the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, where he worked on food security and South-South cooperation. He returned to Argentina in 1982 and established a treaty for South-South cooperation on food security for Latin America (Comite de Acción sobre Seguridad Alimentaria Regional, CASAR) as well as the non-profit Fundación CREAR, promoting development projects in Argentina.
