The Brook, Nelson
The Brook is one of the suburbs of Nelson, New Zealand. It lies to the south of Nelson and is the location of the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary, a conservation project at the head of the Brook Valley. Geography The Brook covers a land area of 6.90 km². It has seven public reserves: Andrews Farm Reserve, Betsy Eyre Park, Brook Park, Grampians Reserve, Grove Reserve, Tantragee Reserve and Wards Reserve. The Seymour Avenue Heritage Precinct consists of a tree lined street at the North West corner of the suburb. The avenue consist of a short street with a mix of transitional villa and Californian bungalow style houses. The initial subdivision occurred in the 1910s with additional development on the 1940s. The subdivision was created on land originally part of a 20 acre property owned by Alfred Fell who built the first house on the land in 1854. This house was purchased by Nathaniel Edwards in 1860 and was considerably extended in the Victorian Gothic Revivalist style. Warwick House ... Carisbrook
Carisbrook (sometimes incorrectly referred to as Carisbrook Stadium) was a major sporting venue in Dunedin, New Zealand. The city's main domestic and international rugby union venue, it was also used for other sports such as cricket, football, rugby league and motocross. In 1922, Carisbrook hosted the very first international football match between Australia and New Zealand. The hosts won 3-1. Carisbrook also hosted a Joe Cocker concert and frequently hosted pre-game concerts before rugby matches in the 1990s. In 2011 Carisbrook was closed, and was replaced as a rugby ground by Forsyth Barr Stadium at University Plaza in North Dunedin, and as a cricket ground by University Oval in Logan Park. Seabrook Greyhound Park
Seabrook Greyhound Park was a greyhound racing track in Seabrook, New Hampshire, United States. Opened on July 2, 1973, the facility ended live racing in 2009, while continuing to offer simulcast wagering of races at other locations. In 2019, the facility was purchased by Nevada-based Eureka Casino Resort. The property, renamed as The Brook, underwent a yearlong, multi-million dollar renovation and features a casino operating under the charitable gaming laws of the state, poker room, racebook and DraftKings sportsbook.
