The Bronx Discography
The discography of The Bronx, a Los Angeles–based punk rock band, consists of six eponymously titled studio albums, two EPs, one DVD, eleven singles, two demos, and eleven music videos. This includes releases by the band's mariachi alter-ego Mariachi El Bronx. The Bronx formed in 2002 with an initial lineup of singer Matt Caughthran, guitarist Joby J. Ford, bassist James Tweedy, and drummer Jorma Vik. After only twelve live performances the band signed to major label Island Def Jam, but opted to put out their early releases independently. They released two demos, both titled ''Sure Death'', in 2002 on their own label, White Drugs. Their first single, "Bats!", was released in July 2003 on Tarantulas Records. Their debut album ''The Bronx'' was released in August 2003 through White Drugs and Ferret Records. The Bronx (band)
The Bronx is an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, California, originally formed in 2002. The band's current line-up consists of vocalist Matt Caughthran, guitarists Joby J. Ford and Ken Horne, bass guitarist Brad Magers, and drummer Joey Castillo. The band has released six studio albums, as well as three additional albums of mariachi music under the moniker of Mariachi El Bronx. History The initial lineup of The Bronx consisted of Caughthran, Ford, bassist James Tweedy, and drummer Jorma Vik. At their first performance they impressed Jonathan Daniel, manager of American Hi-Fi, who became their manager; and as early as their second show had attracted the attention of A&R representatives from major record labels. Wichita Recordings
Wichita Recordings is an independent record label located in London, founded in 2000 by Mark Bowen and Dick Green. Its most notable signees include Bloc Party, The Cribs, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Best Coast, Los Campesinos! and Peter Bjorn and John. The label signed Clap Your Hands Say Yeah for a UK distribution deal for the group's debut album. They also signed the UK producers Simian Mobile Disco for the UK. The label's first release was the Bright Eyes album '' Fevers and Mirrors'', released in 2000. The Dragons (band)
The Dragons were a rock band based in San Diego, California, that released seven albums between 1991 and 2005. The band was notably fronted by singer/guitarist Mario Escovedo, whose musical family also includes Alejandro Escovedo, Pete Escovedo, Javier Escovedo ( The Zeros), Coke Escovedo, Paris Escovedo (the son of Coke Escovedo) and Sheila E. Other members of The Dragons included Ken Horne (lead guitar), Steve Rodriguez (bass guitar) and Jarrod Lucas (drums). The band played a combination of glam, garage and punk rock, similar to New York Dolls and Hanoi Rocks. Before starting The Dragons, both Escovedo and Rodriguez had played together in a local San Diego band called M-80. The Dragons formed in 1991 and later that year performed at the first of their 11 appearances at South by Southwest. "White Guilt" is a song by the Los Angeles-based punk rock band The Bronx, released as the third single from their 2006 album ''The Bronx''. Gilby Clarke played additional guitar on the song, having produced the band's previous album ''The Bronx'' (2003). While the album was released by the Island Def Jam Music Group, the singles for all of their albums have been released exclusively in the United Kingdom, through Wichita Recordings. The single was released on both compact disc and 7-inch vinyl, the latter pressed on red vinyl and limited to 1,500 copies. Live At The Annandale
''Live At The Annandale'' is The Bronx's first available DVD, it showcases a full concert that was held at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney, Australia and released not long after the concert. The DVD is unique in that it was shot by an employee of the hotel with his own mini DV camera. The DVD features the entire show shot by one camera without any edits. The DVD packaging boasts "No edits, No cuts, That shit's over rated." The DVD has also had a minor release in numbers in the United States.
