''The Bop Won't Stop'' is an album by Welsh rock and roll singer Shakin' Stevens, released in November 1983 by Epic Records. Compared to his previous albums, this album was not as successful, only peaking at number 21 on the UK Albums Chart despite the success of its singles. Release The album spawned three UK Top-5 singles: " Cry Just a Little Bit", " A Rockin' Good Way" (a duet with Bonnie Tyler) and " A Love Worth Waiting For". A cover of Ricky Nelson's "It's Late" was also released, peaking at number 11 in the UK. In Mexico, a cover of Jerry Williams & Roadwork's "Diddle I" was released as a single in 1983, with the B-side "Love Me Tonight". In the US and Canada, like with Stevens' previous album '' Give Me Your Heart Tonight'', ''The Bop Won't Stop'' was released with only 10 tracks, omitting "Livin' Lovin' Wreck" and "It's Late". Shakin' Stevens
Michael Barratt (born 4 March 1948), known professionally as Shakin' Stevens, is a Welsh singer and songwriter. He was the UK's biggest-selling singles artist of the 1980s. His recording and performing career began in the late 1960s, although it was not until 1980 that his commercial success began. His most successful songs were nostalgia hits, evoking the sound of 1950s rock and roll and pop. In the UK alone, Stevens has charted 33 Top 40 hit singles including four chart-topping hits "This Ole House", "Green Door", " Oh Julie", and "Merry Christmas Everyone". Mickey Gee
Michael Richard Gee (3 July 1944 – 21 January 2009) was a rock and roll guitarist who played alongside some of the most prominent Welsh musicians of the last forty years. He died on 21 January 2009 in Cardiff, Wales, from emphysema. Career Born at 13 Garth Street, Cardiff, Gee's early influences were Scotty Moore and Chet Atkins and, aged 18, he went to Nashville and Memphis, but failed to meet his heroes. He worked in New York, on a working visa, but quickly left when he received draft papers for the US Army. Early in his career Gee was the musical director of The Senators, Tom Jones' backing band when he was still known as Tommy Scott. Gee left and joined Joe Cocker's Grease Band. Clyde Lovern Otis (September 11, 1924 – January 8, 2008), was an American songwriter and record producer, best known for his collaboration with singer Brook Benton, and for being one of the first African-American A&R executives at a major label. According to the music licensing organization Broadcast Music Inc., Otis is credited as the writer or co-writer of almost 800 songs. Otis Blackwell (February 16, 1931 – May 6, 2002) was an American songwriter whose work influenced rock and roll. Tom Bee is the CEO and founder of Sound of America Records (SOAR), the first Native American owned record label. XIT Adopted at birth, Tom Bee was born and raised in the reservation border town of Gallup, New Mexico. ''The Epic Masters'' is a box set compilation comprising ten remastered albums by Shakin' Stevens. Released on 16 November 2009, the set contains nine albums originally released by Epic Records between 1980 and 1990, plus an exclusive CD of 12" extended mixes. The set was also made available as a download through iTunes. Background Although one of the most popular acts of the 1980s, Shakin' Stevens' major period of success came just before the emergence of the compact disc as a major format.
