''The Best of Keane'' is the first official compilation album by British group Keane. It was released on 11 November 2013 through Island Records. The album contains all of the singles from the band's first four studio albums, ''Hopes and Fears'', ''Under the Iron Sea'', '' Perfect Symmetry'' and '' Strangeland'' (with the exception of "The Lovers Are Losing" and "Better Than This", which are replaced by "My Shadow" from the '' Night Train'' EP and "Hamburg Song" from ''Under the Iron Sea''), plus two new songs: "Higher Than the Sun" and "Won't Be Broken", written during the ''Strangeland'' era. The deluxe version of the album includes a second disc with all B-sides (excluding "She Opens Her Eyes" from ''This Is the Last Time'', "Untitled 2" from ''Bedshaped'', "Tyderian" from ''Nothing in My Way'' and some covers, remixes and live releases) and an unreleased song titled "Russian Farmer's Song". Keane (band)
Keane are an English alternative rock band from East Sussex, formed in 1995. They met while at Tonbridge School together. The band currently comprises Tom Chaplin (lead vocals, electric/acoustic guitar), Tim Rice-Oxley (piano, synthesisers, bass guitar, backing vocals), Richard Hughes (drums, percussion, backing vocals), and Jesse Quin (bass guitar, acoustic/electric guitar, backing vocals). Their original line-up included founder and guitarist Dominic Scott, who left in 2001. Keane achieved mainstream, international success with the release of their debut album ''Hopes and Fears'' in 2004. Topping the UK charts, the album won the 2005 Brit Award for Best British Album and was the second best-selling British album of 2004. It is one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history. Nothing In My Way
"Nothing in My Way" is a song performed and composed by English alternative rock band Keane for their second studio album ''Under the Iron Sea'' (2006). The song was also released 30 October 2006 as the third commercial and fourth overall single from that album in the United Kingdom. After the French pop rock band Bubblies, the single's release is notable as being the first ever commercial music release in USB format, a special edition limited to 1,500 copies. The song was included as part of the ''FIFA 07'' video game soundtrack. Perfect Symmetry (song)
"Perfect Symmetry" is a song by English rock band Keane. It was released on 29 December 2008 as the third single and is the title track from their third album of the same name. The radio edit version of the 7" single rearranges the song somewhat, the second verse being taken from the original first verse, and the original second verse being removed completely. It also cuts out the introduction at the beginning and the lines "...hide in churches / Pieces of pieces of rush hour buses / I dream in e-mails...", although these lines are not removed in the end. Spiralling
"Spiralling" is a song released by Keane on 4 August 2008 at 10:59 (CEST) as the first single of their third album, '' Perfect Symmetry''. It was released in a similar fashion to that of "Atlantic" as a digital download only single; however, it was available as a free download from Keanemusic.com for the first week of release. On 31 July, the message "When we fall in love, we're just falling in love with ourselves" appeared on the band's website in reference to the track. On 11 August 2008, the song was released as an official digital download on various online music stores. The song was said to be inspired by wrestling legend Ric Flair who Tom Chaplin described as a personal hero for his try hard mentality in the ring. His trademark "woo" inspired the song. Try Again (Keane Song)
"Try Again" is a song performed and composed by English alternative rock band Keane that appears as the 10th track on their second studio album, '' Under the Iron Sea'' (2006). The song was released as the sixth single off the album only in Germany on 9 February 2007. This is also Keane's first single with three B-sides, all live performances from Cologne, Germany. Composition and recording It was composed by Tim Rice-Oxley in early 2005, and first played live two weeks after composed by Rice-Oxley. The song was first played with the electric piano and a tambourine as very much a work-in-progress, and as a result was shorter than the recorded version. The album version is a melancholic piano ballad, featuring drums, synthesizers, an extended outro, along with Rice-Oxley's electric piano.
