''The Bane of Llywelyn'' is an adventure module for the first edition of the ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'' fantasy roleplaying game. The adventure was written by Bob Blake and published by TSR in 1985 as part of the Competition, or C-series of modules, and contains material first used in a tournament adventure at GenCon XVI. C5 ''The Bane of Llywelyn'' continues the story that started in C4 ''To Find a King''. Plot summary Two hundred years before the start of the adventure, the royal line of kings of Pellham was deposed and replaced by a High Council. TSR, Inc
TSR, Inc. was an American game publishing company, best known as the original publisher of '' Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D''). Its earliest incarnation, Tactical Studies Rules, was founded in October 1973 by Gary Gygax and Don Kaye. Gygax had been unable to find a publisher for ''D&D'', a new type of game he and Dave Arneson were co-developing, so founded the new company with Kaye to self-publish their products. Needing financing to bring their new game to market, Gygax and Kaye brought in Brian Blume in December as an equal partner. ''Dungeons & Dragons'' is generally considered the first tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG), and established the genre. A gamemaster (GM; also known as game master, game manager, game moderator, referee, or storyteller) is a person who acts as an organizer, officiant for regarding rules, arbitrator, and moderator for a multiplayer role-playing game. They are more common in co-operative games in which players work together than in competitive games in which players oppose each other. The act performed by a gamemaster is sometimes referred to as "Gamemastering" or simply "GM-ing". ''Imagine'' (printed under the long title ''Imagine: Adventure Game Magazine'') was a British monthly magazine dedicated to the first edition ''Advanced Dungeons and Dragons'' and ''Dungeons and Dragons'' role-playing game systems published by TSR UK Limited. History Shannon Appelcine explained, "TSR tried to horn in on the British magazine market in 1983 with ''Imagine'' magazine, but they folded it just two years later. Gary Gygax would much later claim that ''Imagine'' had usually been operated at a loss and was kept around mainly for its useful marketing of TSR's lines. Ron Randall
Ron Randall (born November 22, 1956) is an American comic book artist best known as the creator of the character Trekker. Career A graduate of The Kubert School, Ron Randall's first published comic book work was a two-page backup story titled "Killers Above -- Killers Below!" which was written by Robert Kanigher and appeared in '' Unknown Soldier'' #243 (September 1980). Randall then drew several stories for the ''Sgt. Rock'' title with Joe Kubert, as well as for many of DC's mystery titles. He and writer Gary Cohn co-created the "Barren Earth" feature as a backup in '' The Warlord'' #63 (November 1982) and it was spun off into a four-issue limited series in 1985. Keith Parkinson
Keith A. Parkinson (October 22, 1958 – October 26, 2005) was an American fantasy artist and illustrator known for book covers and artwork for games such as ''EverQuest'', '' Guardians'', '' Magic: The Gathering'', and '' Vanguard: Saga of Heroes''. After designing book and magazine covers for TSR, Parkinson moved into game design in the 1990s, and co-designed the collectible card game ''Guardians''.
