The Art of Survival is the ninth studio album by British alternative rock band Bush. It was released on 7 October 2022 through BMG Records and follows the band's 2020 effort '' The Kingdom''. Content Carla Valois Lobo of '' MusicOHM'' described ''The Art of Survival'' as " post-grunge done right", while Guitar.com labelled the album's sound as "polished, modern hard rock". '' Kerrang'' compared the riffs on "More than Machines" to the American nu metal band Korn, while '' LouderSound'' equated those on "Heavy Is the Ocean" and "Kiss Me I'm Dead" to Alice in Chains and Black Sabbath. Reception Neil Z. Yeung of AllMusic described ''The Art of Survival'' as Bush's best effort since their 2002–2010 hiatus. Bush (British Band)
Bush are an English rock band formed in London, England in 1992. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Gavin Rossdale, lead guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes. In 1994, Bush found immediate success outside the UK with the release of their debut album, ''Sixteen Stone'', which is certified six times multi-platinum by the RIAA. They went on to become one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, selling over ten million records in the United States and 20 million records worldwide. Despite their success in the US (especially in the mid-1990s), the band were considerably less popular in their home country and they have enjoyed only marginal success there. Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath were an English rock music, rock band formed in Birmingham in 1968 by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward (musician), Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. Chris Traynor (born June 22, 1973) is an American guitarist, bassist, and studio musician. He has played with Orange 9mm, Helmet, Bush, Rival Schools, Institute, Gavin Rossdale, and High Desert Fires. Traynor has performed live with the British rock band Blur, recorded bass and guitars on Katy Perry's "Use Your Love" with producer Junior Sanchez, and recorded guitars for Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, producer Dave Stewart, and Pharrell of N*E*R*D. Traynor has also done studio soundtrack work with Blue Man Group and with indie rock band Rival Schools. Traynor is currently living in Los Angeles and is touring with Bush.
