The Angie House
''The Angie House'' is Benjy Davis Project's second studio album. It was released on September 27, 2005. The album title refers to the small town of Angie, Louisiana where the band lived communally while working on the album. The album's third track, "Do It With The Lights On", became an instant hit throughout the band's collegiate fan base and is often the closing number in their live performances. Eventually expanding into a six-piece group, the Benjy Davis Project has recorded four albums and two EPs. They have played across the country as headliners and support act on shows with John Mayer, Better Than Ezra, Sister Hazel, North Mississippi All-Stars and others, as well as events like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Angie is a village in Washington Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 240 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bogalusa Micropolitan Statistical Area. Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown
Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown (April 18, 1924 – September 10, 2005) was an American singer and multi-instrumentalist from Louisiana. He won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album in 1983 for his album, ''Alright Again!''. Early life Brown was born in Vinton, Louisiana, and raised near Orange, Texas. His father was a railroad worker and local musician who taught him several musical instruments, including fiddle by age 5; as well as piano and guitar. He had at least one brother. Career Brown was performing guitar by age ten. He also played drums in swing bands as a teenager. 1940s and 1950s Brown served in the military during World War II. Jerome Noel Jumonville (December 5, 1941 – December 7, 2019), better known as Jerry Jumonville, was an American jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll saxophonist, arranger, and composer. He began playing the saxophone as teenager. Jumonville was a musician for albums and television series. Personal life and early career Jumonville was born on December 5, 1941, as Jerome Noel Jumonville, and he grew up in the Carrollton section of New Orleans. His father was a hobby shop owner. During his summer vacation, before attending his first year of high school, his mother borrowed a saxophone from a friend for Jumonville to play. He played his first alto with that saxophone.
