The Addams Family (1973 TV Series)
''The Addams Family'' is an American animated sitcom adaptation of the Charles Addams single-panel comic for ''The New Yorker''. The show was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for Saturday mornings in 1973, and was later rebroadcast the following season. Jackie Coogan and Ted Cassidy, who played Uncle Fester and Lurch, respectively, in the 1960s television series, returned in voice-over roles. The cast also included 10-year-old Jodie Foster, who performed the voice of Pugsley Addams. The show's theme music was completely different and had no lyrics or finger snapping, but retained a recognizable part of the four-note score from the live-action series. Plot The Addams Family consists of husband and wife Gomez and Morticia Addams, their children Wednesday and Pugsley, as well as Grandmama, Uncle Fester, Thing, Cousin Itt, and their butler, Lurch. The Addamses are a close-knit extended family with decidedly macabre interests and supernatural abilities. No explanation for thei ...

Animated Sitcom
An animated sitcom is a subgenre of the sitcom that is animation, animated instead of live action and is generally made or created for adult animation, adult audiences in most cases. ''SpongeBob SquarePants'', ''The Simpsons'', ''South Park'', and ''Family Guy'' are four of the longest-running animated sitcoms. History Early history ''The Flintstones'', which debuted in 1960, is considered the first example of the animated sitcom genre. A similar cartoon, ''The Jetsons'', which took place in the future rather than the past, followed in 1962. Marc Blake argued it started the "science fiction sitcom sub genre". Animated sitcoms have been more controversial than traditional cartoons from the onset. ''The Flintstones'' was originally oriented at parents, as an animated version of ''The Honeymooners'', though it was primarily popular with children. David Bennett argued that when it was originally released, it was aimed at an adult audience, and called it the "direct ancestors" of curr ...

The New Scooby-Doo Movies
''The New Scooby-Doo Movies'' is an American animated mystery comedy television series produced by Hanna-Barbera for CBS. It is the second animated television series in the studio's ''Scooby-Doo'' franchise, and follows the first incarnation, ''Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!'' It premiered on September 9, 1972, and ended on October 27, 1973, running for two seasons on CBS as the only hour-long ''Scooby-Doo'' series. Twenty-four episodes were produced, 16 for the 1972–73 season and eight more for the 1973–74 season. Aside from doubling the length of each episode, ''The New Scooby-Doo Movies'' differed from its predecessor in the addition of a rotating special guest star slot; each episode featured real world celebrities or well-known animated characters joining the Mystery, Inc. gang in solving mysteries. This concept was later revisited with a similar series titled ''Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?'', which premiered in 2019. ''The New Scooby-Doo Movies'' was the last incarnation of ' ...

Origin of the name In the Charles Addams cartoons, Gomez—as with all of the members of the family—had no given name. When ''The Addams Family'' television series was being developed, Charles Addams suggested naming the character either Repelli or Gomez. Finger Snapping
Snapping (or clicking) one's fingers is the act of creating a snapping or clicking sound with one's fingers. Primarily this is done by building tension between the thumb and another ( middle, index, or ring) finger and then moving the other finger forcefully downward, so it hits the palm of the same hand at a high speed. A Georgia Institute of Technology study in 2021 analyzed finger snapping, and found that a given audible snap sound occurs in just seven milliseconds. For reference, the blink of an eye takes place in 150 milliseconds. In culture In Ancient Greece, snapping of fingers was used by musicians and dancers as a way to keep the rhythm and it was known with the words "ἀποληκέω" (''apolekeo''), "ἀποκρότημα" (''apokrotema'') (from the verb "ἀποκροτέω" - ''apokroteo'', "to snap the fingers") and "ἐπίπταισμα" (''epiptaisma''). Finger snapping is still common in modern Greece. Finger snapping may be used as a substitute for ha ...
