The Actors' Lab is an independent drama school with studios at MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester, founded in 2011 by husband and wife actors Sue Jenkins, David Fleeshman and daughter Emily Fleeshman. Salford, Greater Manchester
Salford () is a city and the largest settlement in the City of Salford metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester, England. In 2011, Salford had a population of 103,886. MediaCityUK
MediaCityUK is a mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The project was developed by Peel Media; its principal tenants are media organisations and the Quayside MediaCityUK shopping centre. The land occupied by the development was part of the Port of Manchester and Manchester Docks. The BBC signalled its intention to move jobs to Manchester in 2004, and the Salford Quays site was chosen in 2006. The Peel Group was granted planning permission to develop the site in 2007, and construction of the development, with its own energy generation plant and communications network, began the same year. Sue Jenkins
Susan Elizabeth Jenkins (born 31 July 1955) is an English actress. She is most widely known for her roles as Gloria Todd in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' (1985–1988) and as Jackie Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'' (1991–2001). Career Jenkins became an actress at the age of eighteen having studied at drama college. She worked in repertory theatres across the UK for the first 11 years of her career, performing in many productions, playing everything from Alan Ayckbourn to Shakespeare. David Fleeshman
David Fleeshman (born 11 July 1952) is a British actor, broadcaster, drama lecturer and theatre director with a wealth of experience in film, radio, television, theatre and commercials. Biography Fleeshman was born on 11 July 1952 in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire. He trained at the Birmingham Theatre School making his stage debut was in 1973 with the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. In 1974 he took a position as actor/assistant stage manager at the Octagon Theatre, Bolton, and has also been an associate director of the Oldham Coliseum Theatre. In 1978 he married actress Sue Jenkins, who played Gloria Todd on ''Coronation Street'', 1985–1988, and Jackie Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap ''Brookside'', 1991–2001. Emily Fleeshman (born 26 December 1986) is an English actress. She is most widely known for her roles as Nikki in ''Still Open All Hours'' and Sally in '' Moving On''. She is the daughter of actor David Fleeshman and actress Sue Jenkins, the sister of actor Richard Fleeshman and actress Rosie Fleeshman. Along with her parents, she is a founder of The Actors' Lab, an acting school based at MediaCityUK, Salford. and a patron of the 24:7 Theatre Festival.
