That's What Love Can Do
"That's What Love Can Do" is a song by American female pop group Boy Krazy, written and produced by British hitmaking team Stock Aitken Waterman, and first released in 1991 as Boy Krazy's debut single. Lead vocals were performed by group member Johnna Cummings. This was the only single in which group member Renée Veneziale would be involved, leaving the band in 1991 soon after its release. The song did not become a hit, peaking at number 86 in the UK; however, it reached number 18 in US. Background and covers The B-side on both releases was a cover of "One Thing Leads to Another", originally by the SAW-produced boyband Yell!. The lyrics were slightly rewritten on Boy Krazy's version to reflect the gender change. Boy Krazy
Boy Krazy was a New York City-based girl group that saw brief fame in 1991, and again in 1993 with their hit single "That's What Love Can Do". Career The group was put together through auditions by a management company in New York. Boy Krazy featured female singers Kimberly Blake, Josselyne Jones, Johnna Lee Cummings, Renée Veneziale, and Ruth Ann Roberts (a former Miss Junior America). Their signature pop song "That's What Love Can Do", written and produced by British mega music trio Stock Aitken Waterman, was released in 1991, but it failed to become a hit. Shortly after the release of the single, Veneziale left the band. Carrying on as a foursome, the group released their second single " All You Have to Do" in 1992, but it also failed to chart. The Rhythmic chart (also called Rhythmic Airplay, and previously named Rhythmic Songs, Rhythmic Top 40 and CHR/Rhythmic) is an airplay chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The chart tracks and measures the airplay of songs played on rhythmic radio stations, whose playlist includes mostly hit-driven R&B/hip-hop, rhythmic pop, and some dance tracks. Nielsen Audio sometimes refers to the format as rhythmic contemporary hit radio. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015.
