"Breakin' Away" / "That's Livin' Alright" is a double A-side single by English singer Joe Fagin. The songs were produced and arranged by David Mackay. Mackay co-wrote "Breakin' Away" with Ian La Frenais, and "That's Livin' Alright" with Ken Ashby. They wrote the songs as the opening and closing theme music for ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'', an English television comedy-drama that premiered in 1983. Ian La Frenais co-wrote ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'' with Dick Clement. "That's Livin' Alright" peaked at #3 on the UK Singles Chart in January 1984. Later that year, Friends Records (Netherlands) and Mariann Grammofon (Sweden) reissued "That's Livin' Alright" as the A-side of a 7" single called "That's Living Alright". Pop Rock
Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music. Dick Clement
Dick Clement (born 5 September 1937) is an English writer, director and producer. He became known for his writing partnership with Ian La Frenais for television series including ''The Likely Lads'', ''Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?'', '' Porridge'', '' Lovejoy'' and ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet''. Early life Born in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England, Clement was educated at Bishop's Stortford College, and then spent a year in the US on an exchange visit. Upon his return, he completed his National Service with the Royal Air Force. He then joined the BBC as a studio manager and started writing scripts and comedy sketches. Clive Langer
Clive Langer (born 19 June 1954 in Hampstead, London, England) is an English record producer and songwriter, active from the mid-1970s onwards. He usually works with Alan Winstanley. He composed the music for the films ''Still Crazy'' and ''Brothers of the Head''. Prior to his record producing career he was a guitarist with the British cult band Deaf School. Langer sometimes performed under the alias of 'Cliff Hanger', and his production work was sometimes attributed to 'Clanger'. After Deaf School, in mid 1977, Langer joined Big in Japan which he suggested to his friend Bill Drummond (later founder of Zoo Records and member of The KLF) to form, but Langer quit shortly afterwards and began a new band, Clive Langer and the Boxes. The 2006 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Germany 2006, was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. David Mackay (producer)
David Mackay (born 11 May 1944) is an Australian record producer, arranger and musical director. He began his music career at the age of 15 in a production of ''Bye Bye Birdie'' for J. C. Williamson Theatre Company. He also worked for a time recording musical sessions for local radio. Career He was classically trained at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he studied piano, clarinet, theory and composition. Mackay was later head-hunted by EMI Australia, which initially employed him as a Recording Engineer but soon promoted him to "Head of Artists and Repertoire".
