That's Britain!
''That's Britain!'' is a 2011 British television series which takes a light-hearted look at aspects of modern life which frustrate and infuriate people. Presented by Nick Knowles and Julia Bradbury the series first aired on BBC One at 8pm from 23 November to 14 December 2011. The first series comprises four episodes. Topics covered in the show centre on every day issues, such as hospital parking charges, roadworks and overcrowded trains, with subjects being investigated by celebrity guests. For example, in the first episode the television presenter Grainne Seoige took a look at junk mail and comedian Ade Edmondson reported on the process of handling airport luggage. Another feature of the programme is ''Talk to the Wall'' whereby viewers are invited to contact the show with the topics which most annoy them. Nick Knowles
Nicholas Simon Augustine Knowles (born 21 September 1962) is an English television presenter, writer and musical artist. He is best known for his presenting roles on the BBC, including game shows ''Who Dares Wins'' (2007–2019), ''Break the Safe'' (2013–2014) and '' 5-Star Family Reunion'' (2015–2016). Knowles presents the DIY series ''DIY SOS'' (1999–present) for BBC One and co-presented the daytime series '' Real Rescues'' (2007–2013). Early life Knowles was born in Southall, Middlesex. At the age of 11, Knowles moved to Mildenhall in Suffolk, attending St Louis Middle School and moved again, attended Gunnersbury Catholic School for Boys. Julia Bradbury
Julia Michele Bradbury (born 24 July 1970) is an Irish-born English television presenter, employed by the BBC and ITV, specialising in documentaries and consumer affairs. Her passion is the outdoors and more recently following her cancer diagnosis and surgery, is dedicating her time supporting the benefits of healthy living and the virtues of nature therapy. She is best known for presenting a series of outdoor walking programmes across multiple tv channels in addition to co-presenting the BBC One programme ''Countryfile'' with Matt Baker from 2004 until 2014. She also presented ''Watchdog'' (2005–2009) and '' Planet Earth Live'' (2012) for the BBC and '' Take on the Twisters'' (2013), ''The Wonder of Britain'' (2015) and ''Britain's Best Walks'' (2017) for ITV. BBC Television Centre
Television Centre (TVC) is a building complex in White City, London, White City, West London, that was the headquarters of BBC Television between 1960 and 2013. After a refurbishment, the complex reopened in 2017 with three studios in use for TV production, operated by BBC Studioworks. The first BBC staff moved into the Scenery Block in 1953, and the centre was officially opened on 29 June 1960. It is one of the most readily recognisable facilities of its type, having appeared as the backdrop for many BBC programmes. BBC One
BBC One is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. Ade Edmondson
Adrian Charles Edmondson (born 24 January 1957) is an English actor, comedian, musician, writer and television presenter. He was part of the alternative comedy boom in the early 1980s and had roles in the television series '' The Young Ones'' (1982–1984) and ''Bottom'' (1991–1995), which he wrote together with his collaborator Rik Mayall. Edmondson also appeared in '' The Comic Strip Presents...'' series of films throughout the 1980s and 1990s. For one episode of this he created the spoof heavy metal band Bad News, and for another he played his nihilistic alter-ego Eddie Monsoon, an offensive South African television star. ''How Do They Do That?'' is a British television show, produced by Telepictures and Reg Grundy Productions in and broadcast on BBC1 from 25 January 1994 to 23 April 1997. Originally presented by Jenny Hull and Des Lynam, the show explored feats of engineering, organization, and special effects. Each season opened with a stunt apparently performed by one of the presenters, such as a skydiver crash-landing into the studio, a car chase, or the entire studio being washed away. After two series, Eamonn Holmes took over as male presenter, and from Series 5, was joined by Esther McVey.
