Thames River Services
Thames River Sightseeing (TRS) are a tour company providing sightseeing cruises on the River Thames in London. Thames River Services operate on the Thames under licence from London River Services, part of Transport for London. Thames River Services are owned by three companies: Crown River Cruises, Viscount Cruises and Westminster Party Boats. The TRS boat M.V. Thomas Doggett, of 524 seats and costing £2.5m was built in the Netherlands and launched in July 2017. The launch was attended by Lord Mayor of London, Andrew Parmley. Services Scheduled services depart daily from Westminster Pier and travel east along the Thames to Greenwich Pier before returning. In the summer, the boats also circle around the Thames Barrier. |

River Thames
The River Thames ( ), known alternatively in parts as the The Isis, River Isis, is a river that flows through southern England including London. At , it is the longest river entirely in England and the Longest rivers of the United Kingdom, second-longest in the United Kingdom, after the River Severn. The river rises at Thames Head in Gloucestershire, and flows into the North Sea near Tilbury, Essex and Gravesend, Kent, via the Thames Estuary. From the west it flows through Oxford (where it is sometimes called the Isis), Reading, Berkshire, Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Windsor, Berkshire, Windsor. London River Services
London River Services Limited is a division of Transport for London (TfL), which manages passenger transport—leisure-oriented tourist services and commuter services—on the River Thames in London. It does not own or operate any boats itself (except for the Woolwich Ferry), but licenses the services of operators. River service had been a common means of transport in London for centuries, but died off in the early 1900s, as transportation was enhanced (and river traffic somewhat blocked) with a proliferation of bridges and tunnels. With these numerous north–south crossings of the Thames, which is generally no more than 300m wide as it runs through central London, the revival of river boat services in London therefore mostly travel east or west along the Thames rather than across it; the only major cross-river ferry services are to be found further downstream where the river is wider, and there are far fewer bridge/tunnel crossings. Evening Standard

The Lord Mayor of London is the mayor of the City of London and the leader of the City of London Corporation. Andrew Parmley
Sir Andrew Charles Parmley, (born 17 October 1956) is Principal of the Harrodian School in Barnes, London, and served as Lord Mayor of London for 2016–17. Early life Born in Lancashire, the third of three sons, Parmley was educated at Blackpool Grammar School. He displayed an early interest in music and started playing the organ, passing the ARCO at 16 and the FRCO aged 18, before winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. He then studied for a Master's at Manchester University, before pursuing further studies at Royal Holloway College, London, and Jesus College, Cambridge. Career Parmley has been Director of Music at Forest School near Snaresbrook, and South Hampstead High School, and then at the Grey Coat Hospital in Westminster. Sir Andrew is now Principal of the Harrodian School. He has also been Director of the Royal College of Organists since 2018. Westminster Pier
Westminster Millennium Pier is a pier on the River Thames, in the City of Westminster in London, UK. It is operated by London River Services and served by various river transport and cruise operators. It is located next to Westminster Bridge on the north bank of the Thames, and is close to one of London's most prominent landmarks, Big Ben. Former Westminster Floating Pier The former Westminster Floating Pier existed on the site through the 1950's, running along the Thames between Kew and the London docks. The floating pier acted as a landing point for many Royal water journeys, including the conclusion of Queen Elizabeth II's Commonwealth tour in May 1954. On the 7th February 1955, night watchmen reported a leak had been found in the pier, causing the middle sections to sink. Greenwich Pier
Greenwich Pier is on the south bank of the River Thames in Greenwich, London. It was built in 1836 to cater for the many paddle steamers that brought visitors on day trips to Greenwich from London further up river. At the time, London's urban area did not extend as far out as Greenwich. The pier is currently operated by London River Services and is used by various river operators, running public cruise services to and from Central London. It is immediately adjacent to the ''Cutty Sark'' and is within easy walking distance of a variety of other popular attractions. It was refurbished in 2004 and again in March 2018. Thames Barrier
The Thames Barrier is a retractable Flood barrier, barrier system built to protect the floodplain of most of Greater London from exceptionally high tides and storm surges moving up from the North Sea. It has been operational since 1982. When needed, it is closed (raised) during high tide; at low tide, it can be opened to restore the river's flow towards the sea. Built about east of the Isle of Dogs, its northern bank is in Silvertown in the London Borough of Newham and its southern bank is in the New Charlton area of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Tower Bridge Quay
Tower Bridge Quay previously St. Katharine's Pier, is a river transport pier on the River Thames, in London, UK. It is owned & operated by Woods River Cruises trading as Woods’ Silver Fleet and served by various river transport and cruise operators. It is situated on the north bank of the Thames, on the east side of Tower Bridge, and immediately in front of the Thistle Tower Hotel. The pier is about ten minutes walk from Tower Hill Underground station. St. Katharine's Pier should not be confused with the nearby St Katharine Docks, which is a private yacht marina and residential area.
