The Thailand women's national football team ( th, ฟุตบอลหญิงทีมชาติไทย, ) represents Thailand in women's association football and is run by the Football Association of Thailand. The team won the Asian Cup in 1983 and have qualified for two FIFA Women's World Cups in 2015 and 2019. Their highest ranking in the FIFA Women's World Rankings is 28th, achieved in July 2011 and June 2018. AFF Women's Championship
The AFF Women's Championship is the competition in women's football organised by the ASEAN Football Federation, contested by the national teams of nations in Southeast Asia and Australia. The official tournament started in 2004, hosted by Vietnam and won by Myanmar. Results A 2017 edition was planned in Thailand but was later cancelled by the ASEAN Football Federation in February 2017 citing the big amount of major women's football tournament already scheduled in Asia for the year. The Thailand national football team ( th, ฟุตบอลทีมชาติไทย, , ) represents Thailand in senior international football and is controlled by the Football Association of Thailand. In the regional competition, Thailand is the most successful football team in Southeast Asia with six AFF Championship trophies and nine senior-level gold medals from the Southeast Asian Games, the most of any Southeast Asian country. The 2014 AFC Women's Asian Cup, the 18th edition of the competition, was a women's association football tournament competed by national teams in Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The 2016 AFF Women's Championship was the ninth edition of the AFF Women's Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held in Mandalay, Myanmar between 26 July–4 August 2016. Thailand successfully defended their title after beating Vietnam in the final via penalty shoot-out.
