Texas's 30th Congressional District
Texas's 30th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives covers much of the city of Dallas and other parts of Dallas and Tarrant counties (primarily black- and Hispanic-majority areas). The district contains the University of North Texas at Dallas, UNT Law, and Texas Women's University at Dallas. The 30th district is also home to Dallas Love Field airport and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The current Representative from the 30th district is Democrat Jasmine Crockett, who has represented the district since 2023. Texas State Highway 30
State Highway 30 (SH 30) runs from Business SH 6-R in College Station via Roans Prairie to SH 19 in Huntsville. It is known as Harvey Road between Business SH 6-R and FM 158 in College Station, as 11th Street between I-45 and US 190 (Phelps Dr) in Huntsville, and as Riverside Drive east of US 190 (Phelps Dr) in Huntsville. The current version of SH 30, the second route with that designation, was established in 1960. The previous designation existed from 1917 to 1939, when it was replaced with US 277. History Previous routes SH 30 was a route proposed on October 8, 1917 to run from Wichita Falls to Abilene. On December 18, 1917, an intercounty highway from Abilene to Paint Rock was designated. Texas had thirty seats in the House, apportioned according to the 1990 United States Census. Eddie Bernice Johnson
Eddie Bernice Johnson (born December 3, 1935) is an American politician who represents Texas's in the United States House of Representatives. Johnson is a member of the Democratic Party. Elected in 1992, Johnson was the first registered nurse elected to Congress. At the swearing-in of the 116th United States Congress, she became dean of Texas's congressional delegation. Upon Representative Don Young's death in March 2022, Johnson became the oldest member of the House of Representatives. She will retire at the end of the 117th Congress. Johnson formerly served in the Texas House of Representatives, where she was elected in 1972 in a landslide, the first black woman to win electoral office from Dallas. The 2020 United States presidential election was the 59th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
