Testament (2023 Film)
''Testament'' is a 2023 Canadian drama film, written and directed by Denys Arcand. The film stars Rémy Girard as Jean-Michel Bouchard, a retired archivist in his 70s living in a retirement home, who is initially angered when a group of protestors arrive to demand that the facility remove an art installation that has been deemed insulting to First Nations, only to find new love and a new zest for life in the experience. Denys Arcand
Georges-Henri Denys Arcand (; born June 25, 1941) is a French Canadian film director, screenwriter and producer. His film ''The Barbarian Invasions'' won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film in 2004. His films have also been nominated three further times, including two nominations in the same category for ''The Decline of the American Empire'' in 1986 and ''Jesus of Montreal'' in 1989, becoming the only French-Canadian director in history whose films have received this number of nominations and, subsequently, to have a film win the award.
