This was the first ever Commonwealth tournament held, Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes of India were the top seed. But they lost in the semifinals to the champions Paul Hanley and Peter Luczak, and had to settle for the bronze medal. Hanley and Luczak defeated Ross Hutchins and Ken Skupski of England 6–4, 3–6, 6–3 to win the gold medal. Mahesh Bhupathi
Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi (born 7 June 1974) is an Indian former doubles world No. 1 tennis player. In 1997, he became the first Indian to win a major tournament (with Rika Hiraki). With his win at the 2006 Australian Open mixed doubles, he joined the elite group of eight tennis players who have achieved a career Grand Slam in mixed doubles. He is also the founder of International Premier Tennis League. In December 2016, Bhupathi was appointed as India's next non-playing Davis Cup captain and took over the reins from Anand Amritraj in February 2017. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi ( Punjabi, ; born 17 Mar 1980) is a Pakistani professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He is the only Pakistani player ever to reach a Grand Slam final, having done so in both men's and mixed doubles at the 2010 US Open, alongside Rohan Bopanna and Květa Peschke respectively. Qureshi has also reached seven further major semifinals across the two disciplines. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 8 in June 2011, and has won 18 titles on the ATP Tour, including the 2011 Paris Masters and 2013 Miami Open, with Bopanna and Jean-Julien Rojer respectively. Colin Fleming
Colin Fleming (born 13 August 1984) is a British retired professional tennis player who specialised in doubles. As part of the Davis Cup team, he won eight successive doubles matches to help Great Britain into the World Group. He also won his doubles match in the World Group quarter final against Italy. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won the mixed doubles gold medal with Jocelyn Rae for Scotland. Duncan Kasumba Mugabe (born 27 November 1990) is a Ugandan professional tennis player. Early life Mugabe was raised in a large family in the Lugogo area of the capital Kampala. He has seven siblings, including national cricketer Danniel Ruyange and basketball player Brian Kasumba. His breakthrough win came in the ITF East Africa under 13s in 2003, after which he received a training placement in South Africa and ultimately a five-year scholarship. Greg Jones (born 1989) is a former Australian professional tennis player. Early life Born in Sydney, Jones is an only child. He is the son of Russell Jones, a quantity surveyor, and Donna Jones, a teacher's aide.
