The Tennessee House of Representatives 3rd district in the United States is one of 99 legislative districts included in the lower house of the Tennessee General Assembly. The district represents Johnson County and parts of Carter, Hawkins, and Sullivan counties. It includes the cities of Mountain City, Bluff City, and Mount Carmel. The district has been represented by Timothy Hill since May 2023. 2023 United States State Legislative Elections
The 2023 United States state legislative elections will be held on November 7, 2023, for eight state legislative chambers in four states. These off-year elections will coincide with other state and local elections, including gubernatorial elections in three states. Special elections were also held throughout the year in several states. Blountville
Blountville is a census-designated place (CDP) in and the county seat of Sullivan County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 3,074 at the 2010 census. It is the only Tennessee county seat not to be an incorporated city or town. Blountville is part of the Kingsport– Bristol (TN)– Bristol (VA) Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City–Kingsport–Bristol, TN- VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region. History The area that is now Blountville is thought to have been the location of a longhunter fort prior to its permanent settlement. Scotty Campbell
Scotty Campbell is the Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for the 3rd district, encompassing Mountain City, Johnson County, and parts of Sullivan County. Campbell first served from January 2011 until November 2012 after the House District seat was vacated by Rep. Jason Mumpower at the end of his last term. Bristol is a city in the State of Tennessee. Located in Sullivan County, its population was 26,702 at the 2010 census. It is the twin city of Bristol, Virginia, which lies directly across the state line between Tennessee and Virginia. Jason Mumpower
Jason Everett Mumpower (born September 22, 1973) currently serves as Tennessee's 35th Comptroller of the Treasury. He was first elected to the position by the Tennessee General Assembly on January 13, 2021. He is responsible for leading the Office of the Comptroller of the Treasury, which comprises 12 divisions and more than 560 employees, and ensuring the Office fulfills its mission to make government work better.
