Tenali is a constituency in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, representing the state legislative assembly in India. As per the ''Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies order (2008),'' the constituency covers Kollipara and Tenali mandals. It is one of the seven assembly segments of Guntur Lok Sabha constituency, along with Tadikonda, Mangalagiri Ponnur, Prathipadu, Guntur West, and Guntur East. ''Annabathuni Siva Kumar'' is the present MLA of the constituency, who won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from YSR Congress Party. The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly or Andhra Pradesh Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature. 2009 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The United Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election of 2009 took place in April 2009, concurrently with the 2009 Indian general election. The elections were held in the state in the first phase (2009-04-16) and the second phase (2009-04-23). The results were declared on 2009-05-16. 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, 2014 took place on 30 April and 7 May 2014 to elect members to the legislatures of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was held concurrently with the Indian general election. The results were declared on 16 May 2014. The Telugu Desam Party led by N. Chandrababu Naidu won a majority of the 175 seats in the rump Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by K. Chandrashekar Rao won in the new state of Telangana. Alapati Venkataramaiah
Alapati Venkataramaiah (9 September 1917 – 16 June 1965) was a freedom fighter and government minister from Andhra Pradesh, India. He represented Tenali in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for four consecutive terms from 1952 to 1965. Early life Venkataramaiah was born on 9 September 1917 to a very rich agricultural family in the village of Edlapalli, about seven kilometres from Tenali Town in Guntur district. His parents were Alapati Anjaiah Garu and Smt Chellamma Garu. In those years when there were no proper schools in the villages, Sri Alapati Venkataramaiah Garu completed only primary school.
