Telecinco
Telecinco is a Spanish free-to-air television channel operated by Mediaset España. The channel was previously known as Tele 5, because it had first begun its experimental transmissions on 10 March 1989, and a year later, it was officially launched on 3 March 1990, becoming the fifth of the national terrestrial television channels and the second private channel in Spain. In 1997, Tele 5 was rebranded as Telecinco, dropping the biscione-absent flower logo seen in other Mediaset channel logos. Mediaset España (), full name Mediaset España Comunicación, S.A., is a Spanish media company, controlled by the Italian company MFE - MediaForEurope. Its divisions include the generalist free-to-air TV channels Telecinco and Cuatro, thematic channels and a film production subsidiary, Telecinco Cinema. Created in 1989 as ''Gestevisión Telecinco'', it was then granted one of the first licenses for private free-to-air analogic terrestrial TV broadcasting in Spain. Cuatro (stylized as cuatro°, "Four") is a Spanish free-to-air television channel that was launched in November 2005. Boing (Spanish TV Channel)
Boing is a Spanish free-to-air television channel launched in 2010 and owned as a joint venture between Mediaset España and Warner Bros. Discovery through its International unit. When Cartoonito and Cartoon Network were shut down on 30 June 2013, many of their programmes were moved to Boing, alongside new Boomerang programmes. Telecinco Sport was a Spanish sport channel available on TDT, and owned by Gestevisión Telecinco. On 18 February 2008, the channel was closed, and the frequency was given to Telecinco 2. Divinity is a private Spanish television channel owned by Mediaset España, whose programming is aimed to target women. Divinity began test broadcasts on 1 March 2011 before fully launching on 1 April 2011. LaNueve project With the expansion of the number of channels in 2010, before the merger of Telecinco and Cuatro, Telecinco was considering launching a free channel dedicated to women. The channel would have been launched on 1 September 2010 as "LaNueve" (The Nine) corresponding to its logical channel number on digital terrestrial television. Paolo Vasile (born 1953) is an Italian businessman and film and television producer. He served as the CEO of Gestevisión Telecinco/Mediaset España from 1999 to 2022.
