Teghra (Vidhan Sabha Constituency)
Teghra is an assembly constituency in Begusarai district in the Indian state of Bihar. It was earlier called Barauni Assembly constituency. Overview As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 143 Teghra Assembly constituency is composed of the following: * Teghra community development block; * Bihat I to IV, Malhipur (North), Malhipur (South), Papraur, Garahara I & II, * Simaria I & II, Rajwara, Amarpur, Peepra Dewas and Hajipur gram panchayats of Barauni CD Block. Bihar Legislative Assembly
The Bihar Legislative Assembly, also known as the Bihar Vidhan Sabha, is the lower house of the Bihar Legislature where the first elections were held in 1952. The total strength of membership in the Assembly was 331, including one nominated member. Dr.Shri Krishna Singh became the first Leader of the House and the first Chief Minister, Dr. Anugrah Narayan Singh was elected as the first Deputy Leader of the Assembly and became state's first Deputy Chief Minister. Barauni was an assembly constituency in Begusarai district in the Indian state of Bihar. As a consequence of the orders of the Delimitation Commission of India, Ballia Assembly constituency ceased to exist in 2010. It is now renamed as Teghra Teghra Assembly constituency. It was part of Balia Lok Sabha constituency. Rashtriya Janata Dal
The Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD; translation: ''National People's Party'') is an Indian political party, based in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Kerala. The party was founded in 1997 by Lalu Prasad Yadav. The party's support base has traditionally been Other Backward Classes, Dalits and Muslims and it is considered a political champion of the lower castes. The Legislative Assembly election was held over five-phases in Bihar through October–November 2015 before the end of the tenure of the prior Legislative Assembly of Bihar on 29 November 2015. Chandrasekhar Singh
Chandrasekhar Singh (26 December 1915 - 19 July 1976 in Patna) was a leader from the Communist Party of India who served as a minister in the government of Bihar state. Family Singh was born in Bihat (Masnadpur) village near Barauni in Begusarai district of Bihar. His father, Ramcharitra Singh, was a member of the Congress party, a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and a minister in the Dr. Sri Krishna Singh's cabinet. He is also a distant relative of former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar. Career Singh was a founding member of the Communist Party of India in Begusarai district. He was instrumental in converting Begusarai into a bastion of the communist party. Begusarai came to be known as Leningrad of Bihar and Singh's village, Bihat, earned the sobriquet Little Moscow. Elections to the Bihar Legislative Assembly were held on 25 February 1957. 1393 candidates contested for the 264 constituencies in the Assembly. There were 54 two-member constituencies and 210 single-member constituencies. State Reorganization Bihar was reduced slightly by the transfer of minor territories to West Bengal in 1956 under States Reorganisation Act, 1956.
