Teddy Bears' Picnic (film)
''Teddy Bears' Picnic'' is a 2002 American comedy film written and directed by Harry Shearer. It was released in May 2002 to limited audiences. Shearer has a small role in the film. It is also Kenneth Mars' last film before his death. Plot ''Teddy Bears' Picnic'' covers an annual encampment of prominent male leaders at the Zambezi Glen. The film starts out with the first ever women's day at the glen, where wives and girlfriends of Zambezi members are invited to visit the glen ahead of the annual encampment, which also serves to introduce the glen and the characters to the audience. The actual retreat itself begins after the members have returned without any women and kicks off with the "Assassination of Time", based on the real '' Cremation of Care'' at the Bohemian Grove, with a pelican replacing the latter's owl. Harry Shearer
Harry Julius Shearer (born December 23, 1943) is an American actor, comedian, writer, musician, radio host, director and producer. Born in Los Angeles, California, Shearer began his career as a child actor. From 1969 to 1976, Shearer was a member of The Credibility Gap, a radio comedy group. Following the breakup of the group, Shearer co-wrote the film ''Real Life'' (1979) with Albert Brooks and worked as a writer on Martin Mull's television series ''Fernwood 2 Night''. Shearer was a cast member on ''Saturday Night Live'' between 1979 and 1980, and 1984 and 1985. Shearer co-created, co-wrote and co-starred in the film '' This Is Spinal Tap'' (1984), a satirical rockumentary, which became a hit. David Rasche
David Rasche ( ; born August 7, 1944) is an American theater, film and television actor who is best known for his portrayal of the title character in the 1980s satirical police sitcom ''Sledge Hammer!'' Since then he has often played characters in positions of authority, in both serious and comical turns. In television he is known for his performances in ''L.A. Law'', ''Monk'', ''The West Wing'', ''Veep'', and '' Succession''. Early life Rasche was born in Belleville, Illinois (less than from St. Louis, Missouri). His father was a minister and farmer. Richard Marvin Butkus (born December 9, 1942) is an American former professional football player, sports commentator, and actor. He played football as a middle linebacker for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL) from 1965 to 1973.
