Ted Lewis Wilson (born May 18, 1939) is an American politician who served as the 30th mayor of Salt Lake City from 1976 until July 1985. He won three elections. Wilson resigned during his third term to become the director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah where he held an adjunct assistant professorship of Political Science. His terms were noted by an election in May, 1979 to change the five member commission form of government to a mayor/council form. This initiative was created by a city scandal involving the take-over of the city personnel department by the chief of police. Other highlights of Wilson's administration included re-construction of the Salt Lake City International Airport, re-building the city's sewage treatment plant, re-tooling the water system, and expanding the green space of the city's parks department. John Wesley "Ted" Wilson (born July 14, 1964) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins. He played college football at the University of Central Florida, and was selected by the Redskins in the 10th round of the 1987 NFL Draft. Early life Wilson was born in Zephyrhills, Florida and attended Zephyrhills High School, where he played high school football and baseball. During his senior year, Wilson batted .400 with 10 home runs and 50 stolen bases. Wilson was drafted by the New York Mets but decided to attend college. College career Wilson attended and played college football at the University of Central Florida. Theodore Shaw Wilson (November 24, 1912 – July 31, 1986) was an American jazz pianist. Described by critic Scott Yanow as "the definitive swing pianist", Wilson had a sophisticated, elegant style. His work was featured on the records of many of the biggest names in jazz, including Louis Armstrong, Lena Horne, Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald. With Goodman, he was one of the first black musicians to appear prominently with white musicians. In addition to his extensive work as a sideman, Wilson also led his own groups and recording sessions from the late 1920s to the 1980s. Biography Wilson was born in Austin, Texas. He studied piano and violin at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama. Teddy Wilson (born 29 November 2006) is a British sprinter. Early life From North London, he attended Bishop Stopford's School in Enfield. He ha said he was inspired to take up sprinting after watching the London 2012 Olympic Games. Career In August 2021, Wilson broke the British U15 100m record, running 10.78 seconds at the England Athletics U15 & U17 Championships, in Manchester. He competed in the 100 metres at the European Athletics U18 Championships in Jerusalem in 2022. He equalled the European Under-18 100m record with a personal best of 10.26 seconds at the Mannheim International in June 2023. That run also broke the Mark Lewis-Francis long-standing UK under-17 record.
