Edward "Ted" Collins (January 2, 1943 – March 11, 2021) was a Canadian football player who played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Rough Riders. He won the Grey Cup with Montreal in 1970. He played college football at the University of Detroit Mercy The University of Detroit Mercy is a Private university, private Catholic Church, Roman Catholic university in Detroit, Michigan. It is sponsored by both the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and the Sisters of Mercy. The university was founded in 1877 .... His brother Doug Collins also played in the CFL. Ted Collins (manager)
Ted Collins (October 12, 1900 – May 27, 1964) was an American show business manager, best known for managing singer and TV show star Kate Smith, (1907–1986) for thirty years. Collins was also involved in professional sports, as owner of the National Football League's franchises Boston Yanks (1944–48) and which followed as the New York Bulldogs/Yanks (1949–51) - later became the Dallas Texans in 1952. He was considerably more successful in entertainment management than as an oldtime NFL owner. Collins died at age 63 in May 1964, of a heart attack in Lake Placid, New York Lake Placid is a village in the Adirondack Mountains in Essex County, New York, United States. Edward Collins (1882–1955) was an English footballer who played as a defender for Bilston United, Birmingham Veritas, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sunbeam Motors, Newport County, and Hednesford Town. Career Collins played for Bilston United, Birmingham Veritas, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He played for Wolves in the 1908 FA Cup Final as they beat Newcastle United 3–1 at Crystal Palace. He joined Port Vale as a guest in September 1916, and made his debut at right-back in a 0–0 draw with Liverpool at the Athletic Ground in a Football League, Lancashire Regional Section match on 9 September. He became a regular in the first team, and played in a 2–2 home draw with Bury two weeks later despite having worked through the previous night until 6 am in Wolverhampton. He left Port Vale in September 1917, and later played for Sunbeam Motors, Newport County, and Hednesford Town. He died in 1955. Ted Jamie Collins (born 28 January 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Chelmsford City. Club career Collins is a youth product of Colchester United who has spent time on loan at Holland and Maldon & Tiptree, before making his professional debut for Colchester United at the age of 19 on 29 January 2022, coming on as a second-half substitute for Shamal George after he was sent off in a 1–1 draw with Swindon Town at the Jobserve Community Stadium. Collins joined Potters Bar on a one month loan, to get more playing time. After coming back from his loan spell, Collins has been named on the bench on various occasions. He was named on the bench on the 30 July 2022 against Northampton Town. Following the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, the club announced that Collins would depart upon the expiration of his contract.
