Tarleton State Texans Football

The Tarleton State Texans football program, also known as the Tarleton Texans, is the intercollegiate American football team for Tarleton State University located in the U.S. state of Texas. Through the 2019 season, the team competed in NCAA Division II as members of the Lone Star Conference, but moved to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) beginning in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season. In fall 2021, Tarleton's full-time home of the Western Athletic Conference will revive its football league at the FCS level, with Tarleton as one of the inaugural members. However, Tarleton State is ineligible for FCS Playoff competition until 2024 due to NCAA transfer rules. Tarleton State's first football team was fielded in 1904. Lonn Reisman
Lonn Eugene Reisman (born December 23, 1954) is the current director of athletics for Tarleton State University. He served as men's basketball coach at Tarleton State from 1988 to 2018. Early life and education Reisman was born in Cuba, New York, the third of five children to Lyle and Josephine Reisman. His father worked as a manufacturing specialist at Acme Electric Corporation. In 1969, the family moved to Lumberton, North Carolina. Reisman attended Lumberton High School where he was a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball under coach Bob Ivey. Shortly before his junior year of high school, Ivey accepted the coaching position at Florida Air Academy. Reisman followed his coach to the school and became a High School All-America in football and basketball. He played basketball and tennis at Coffeyville Community College before transferring to Pittsburg State University. Hal McAfee
Harold Thomas McAfee (November 20, 1953 – November 22, 2008) was an American football coach. He served as head coach at Tarleton State University from 1988 to 1992. McAfee compiled a 36–18 overall record, including an 11–1 season in 1990, the first ever undefeated regular season in school history. McAfee was an All-Southwest Conference linebacker at the University of Arkansas. He helped the Razorbacks to a 31–10 win over Georgia in the 1976 Cotton Bowl Classic, earning him the game's Defensive Most Valuable Player award. McAfee would eventually be named to the Cotton Bowl Classic Hall of Heroes for the 1970s and the ''Houston Chronicle'' All-Time Cotton Bowl Classic team. The Minnesota State Mavericks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Minnesota State University, Mankato located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The team plays in NCAA Division II and is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Since 1962, they have played in Blakeslee Stadium, with a natural grass field and a capacity of 7,000. The Texas A&M–Commerce Lions football team (formerly the East Texas Lions and East Texas State Lions) is the college football program representing Texas A&M University–Commerce. The Azusa Pacific Cougars football program was a college football team that represented Azusa Pacific University. The 2001 UC Davis football team represented the University of California, Davis as an independent during the 2001 NCAA Division II football season. Led by ninth-year head coach Bob Biggs, UC Davis compiled an overall record of 10–3. 2001 was the 32nd consecutive winning season for the Aggies. UC Davis was ranked No. 12 in the NCAA Division II poll at the end of the regular season and advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs for the sixth straight year. The Aggies defeated 11th-ranked in the first round and 17th-ranked in the quarterfinals before losing in semifinal round to fourth-ranked and eventual national champion North Dakota.
