Embrace (English Band)
Embrace are an English rock band formed in Bailiff Bridge, West Yorkshire, England, in 1990. The band consists of brothers singer Danny McNamara and guitarist Richard McNamara, bassist Steve Firth, keyboardist Mickey Dale, and drummer Mike Heaton. The group have released eight studio albums: ''The Good Will Out'' (1998), '' Drawn from Memory'' (2000), ''If You've Never Been'' (2001), '' Out of Nothing'' (2004), ''This New Day'' (2006), ''Embrace'' (2014), ''Love Is a Basic Need'' (2018), and ''How to Be a Person Like Other People'', which was released on 26 August 2022. ''This New Day'' is the fifth studio album by English rock band Embrace. It was released on 27 March 2006, being preceded by the release of the single, "Nature's Law", and went straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart. The single and album were enough to earn the band the distinction of performing "World at Your Feet", England's official 2006 FIFA World Cup song. The album was then reissued on 5 June 2006, with the song included on it. The album is also notable for being the first album ever to top the UK Album Downloads Chart. Independiente is a British independent record label formed in 1997 after Andy Macdonald sold his first label Go! Discs to PolyGram in 1996 for a reported £30 million. The label, which is currently dormant, is a division of Concord Music. The label's catalogue included albums by Travis, John Martyn, Nile, Gomez, Embrace, Paul Weller and Martina Topley-Bird. In December 2013, it was confirmed that Embrace had signed to Cooking Vinyl, leaving Independiente with no current artists on its roster. Martin Glover
Martin Glover (born 27 December 1960), better known by his stage name Youth, is a British record producer and musician, best known as a founding member and bassist of the rock band Killing Joke. He is also a member of the Fireman, along with Paul McCartney. Early career Martin Glover was born on 27 December 1960 in Slough, at that point part of Buckinghamshire, England. He attended Kingham Hill School, an independent private school in Oxfordshire, where he met Alex Paterson, who would become a roadie for Glover's band Killing Joke, and later founder of The Orb. Richard McNamara
Richard McNamara (born 23 October 1972 in Mytholmroyd, West Riding of Yorkshire, England) is an English musician, singer-songwriter, and producer, best known as the guitarist and co-lead vocalist for the English band Embrace. He and his older brother, Danny, grew up in the village of Bailiff Bridge, Brighouse near Halifax. Danny is the band's lead singer. Richard and Danny McNamara attended Hipperholme Grammar School in nearby Hipperholme with their brother Jonathan. According to Danny, as a child Richard was nicknamed 'Firestarter' as he was fascinated with fire and was always playing with a box of matches. McNamara was initially the drummer for a thrash metal garage band called Gross Misconduct in his teens. Daniel Anthony McNamara (31 December 1970 in Halifax) is an English musician, best known as the lead singer of English band Embrace. "World at Your Feet" is a song by English rock band Embrace from the re-released version of their fifth studio album, ''This New Day'' (2006). It was the official song of the England World Cup squad in the 2006 FIFA World Cup campaign, and was released on 5 June 2006. Singer Danny McNamara told the NME: "We didn't apply to do this. They just asked us. Our manager said, 'Do you want to do the World Cup song? The FA want to know.' I asked my dad and he said, 'if you think you're up to it-do it!' I was just trying to cover all the bases." It was broadcast on Radio 1 on 21 April by Chris Moyles.
