Tara Township is a township in Swift County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 121 at the 2000 census. Tara Township was organized in 1878, and named after the Hill of Tara in Ireland. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.9 square miles (92.9 km), of which 35.8 square miles (92.8 km) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.1 km) (0.14%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 121 people, 42 households, and 34 families residing in the township. The population density was 3.4 people per square mile (1.3/km).
