Taninthayi Region Hluttaw
Taninthayi Region Hluttaw ( my, တနင်္သာရီတိုင်းဒေသကြီးလွှတ်တော်) is the legislature of the Burmese region of Taninthayi Region in Myanmar. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 28 members, including 21 elected members and 7 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Khin Maung Aye of the National League for Democracy (NLD). Myint Maung (politician)
Myint Maung is a Burmese politician who is currently serving as Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region and Taninthayi Region Parliament MP for Kawthaung Township Constituency No. 2. He previously served as the Minister of Natural Resource and Environment for Taninthayi Region from 2016 to 2019. Myint Maung is also the NLD secretary for Tanintharyi Region. He was appointed as acting Chief Minister for Tanintharyi Region on 11 March 2019 after former chief minister Lei Lei Maw was arrested on charges of corruption. The Region Chief Minister ( my, တိုင်းဒေသကြီးဝန်ကြီးချုပ်) or State Chief Minister ( my, ပြည်နယ်ဝန်ကြီးချုပ်) serves as the chief executive of each of the respective regional or state governments of Myanmar. According to the Constitution of Myanmar, the Chief Minister is responsible for forming the state and regional governments, and for signing and promulgating bills approved by the State and Region Hluttaws. Lei Lei Maw ( my, လဲ့လဲ့မော်; also spelt Lae Lae Maw) is a Burmese politician and a medical doctor who served as Chief Minister of Tanintharyi Region and Taninthayi Region Parliament MP for Thayetchaung Township Constituency No. 1. She was removed from her chief minister position for corruption on 11 March 2019. She is the second of only two women chief ministers appointed by President Htin Kyaw.
