Tamir River
The Tamir () is a river flowing through the valleys of the Khangai Mountains in the Arkhangai aimag of central Mongolia. For most of its length, the Tamir is divided into two branches, the Northern Tamir (, ) and the Southern Tamir (, ). The Northern Tamir starts between the ''Shalkhagiin Khoit'' mountain range and the ''Togoo'' Mountain in the Ikh-Tamir sum. The southern Tamir starts about 25 km to the south-west in the Bulgan sum at the end of the ''Khairkhny'' mountain range. The two branches run a roughly north-eastern course up to their confluence at the sum center of Battsengel sum. Iron Dome ( he, כִּפַּת בַּרְזֶל, Kippat Barzel) is a mobile all-weather air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries. The system is designed to intercept and destroy short-range rockets and artillery shells fired from distances of to away and whose trajectory would take them to an Israeli populated area. From 2011 to 2021, the United States contributed a total of US$1.6 billion to the Iron Dome defense system, with another US$1 billion approved by the United States Congress, US Congress in 2022. Iron Dome was declared operational and initially deployed on 27 March 2011 near Beersheba. ''The Tamír Triad'' is a fantasy trilogy by American writer Lynn Flewelling. It contains three novels, and has a sister series, ''The Nightrunner Series'', which contains seven. The series contains mythopoeia. The resounding issue dealt with within the series is the on-and-off war between two fictional countries, Skala and Plenimar, and their citizens, with other countries and people often getting caught in the crossfire. The series focuses on Queen Tamír II, known throughout her childhood as Prince Tobin, and how she goes from being a sad, haunted child to a Warrior Queen. Dark magic was used to disguise her in childhood from her uncle, who would have all the women in his line killed in case they tried to take his throne, but the Oracle predicts that Tamír will be Queen, and many people go to unbelievable lengths to make sure that it happens.
