Takeback usually refers to when sellers or manufacturers accept returns of products at the end of their lives, and is often associated with waste collection of certain products outside municipal waste-handling. Takeback
A take-back system or simply takeback is one of the primary channels of waste collection, especially for e-waste, besides municipal sites. Take-back is the idea that manufacturers and sellers "take back" the products that are at the end of their lives. Take-back is aimed to reduce a business' environmental impacts on the earth and also increase efficiency and lower costs for their business models. "Take-back regulations have targeted a wide array of products including packaging, batteries, automobiles, and electronics" and economic value can be found from recycling or re-manufacturing such products. "The programs benefit municipalities by lowering their overall waste disposal costs and reducing the burden on landfill sites". David Wood (environmental Campaigner)
David E. Wood (July 1, 1963 – December 10, 2006) was an attorney and environmental activist. Best known for his work in the field of electronics recycling, he was executive director of the GrassRoots Recycling Network (GRRN) in Madison, Wisconsin and organizing director of the nationwide Computer TakeBack Campaign (CTBC). Wood was born in Clifton Springs, NY, to two locally known doctors. He had seven brothers and sisters. He attended Bucknell University, receiving his training in law at the University at Buffalo. After graduating from law school, he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked for the California Public Interest Research Group (CalPIRG). Later, Wood moved to Madison, Wisconsin, working first for the Center on Wisconsin Strategy (COWS), and then the GrassRoots Recycling Network. "The Takeback" is the 8th episode of the seventh season of the American television police sitcom series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and the 138th overall episode of the series. The episode was written by Dewayne Perkins and directed by Michael McDonald. It aired on March 19, 2020, on NBC. The show revolves around the fictitious 99th precinct of the New York Police Department in Brooklyn and the officers and detectives that work in the precinct. In this episode, Jake is invited to Doug Judy's bachelor party in Miami but the party soon turns into a mission when they find out that Judy's friends made a heist while in the hotel and they have to pull a "reverse heist" to avoid problems.
