Tahir Pasha Mahmud Bey-zade ( tr, Tahir Paşa Mahmud Bey-zâde, sr, Тахир-паша Махмудбеговић; 1711–18) was an Ottoman governor (''mutasarrıf''), the sanjak-bey of Dukakin (or İpek). In 1711, he and his nephew Ahmed fought at the Moldavian battlefield. Tahir Pasha Pojani or Thir Pasha born in Kavala as the son of Ahmed Bey and Zohra Khanum, older sister to Muhammad Ali of Egypt - (died May 29 1803) was the Albanian commander of bashi-bazouks under Koca Hüsrev Mehmed Pasha. He rebelled and assumed government of Cairo, becoming the acting Ottoman governor of Egypt on 6 May 1803. He was beheaded by a Janissary soldier within a month of acting as governor when he was unable to pay the troops their outstanding pay. Tahir Pasha (Mosul)
Tahir Pasha, ( sq, Tahir Pashë Krajani, died 1913) was an Ottoman Brigadier General (mirliva) who originated from the region of Krajë, now in modern Montenegro and he was an Albanian. He served as governor of Mosul and Bitlis toward the latter years of his life. Background Tahir Pasha entered the service of the Ottoman crown prince prior to 1876 and became his confidant. After the prince became sultan Abdul Hamid II he remained with him until the end of his reign. While Abdul Hamid II was in power, Tahir Pasha headed the palace guard and attained the rank of marshall, due to the growth of his protection force and responsibilities. Tahir Pasha served as a '' vali'' or governor of Mosul in the Ottoman Empire from 1889 to 1891. Then he was the ''vali'' of Van and Bitlis, Turkey.
