The Tag World Grand Prix was a professional wrestling tag team tournament promoted by the Chikara and Wrestling is Fun! (WiF!) wrestling promotions. 2003 Tag World Grand Prix 2003 was the first ''Tag World Grand Prix'' tournament held by Chikara. The tournament ran over two nights, with the preliminary rounds being held on July 5, 2003, at St. John's Auditorium in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and the finals held three weeks later on July 26 at the same venue. Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. The mock combat is performed in a ring similar to the kind used in boxing, and the dramatic aspects of pro wrestling may be performed both in the ring or—as in televised wrestling shows—in backstage areas of the venue, in similar form to reality television. Professional wrestling as a form of theater evolved out of the widespread practice of match fixing among wrestlers in the early 20th century. Jazmin Benitez (born November 17, 1980) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under the ring name Mercedes Martinez. Arik Cannon (born December 23, 1981) is an American professional wrestler known for competing in companies such as Chikara, Dragon Gate USA, IWA Mid-South, All American Wrestling and Wrestling Society X. He is a former one-time Chikara Grand Champion and winner of the 2012 King of Trios tournament.
