TVN (Poland)
TVN (stylised in all lowercase) is a Polish free-to-air television station, network and a media and entertainment group in Poland. It was co-founded by Polish businessmen Mariusz Walter, Jan Wejchert and Swiss entrepreneur Bruno Valsangiacomo. It is owned by TVN Group, which as of April 2022, is a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. The current CEO is Katarzyna Kieli (who is also president and managing director of TVN Warner Bros. Discovery, Warner Bros. Discovery Poland). TVN is available by satellite television, satellite, cable television and digital terrestrial television. In 2004, with its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the company became a public limited company. TTV (Poland)
TTV (Twoja Telewizja; ') is the first Polish, social-intervention television channel. It was launched on January 2, 2012. TTV broadcasts of a news and entertainment programs. The channel cooperates with TVN 24. History In September 2011, Stavka and the TVN Group concluded an agreement on a close cooperation in the field of technology, advertising and programming. Originally, the channel was supposed to broadcast under the name ''U-TV'', but the broadcaster requested before the launch to change the record in the concession received. The head of the station was Lidia Kazen. On February 1, 2012 the station was encrypted via satellite. On the same day the channel joined the Cyfrowy Polsat mux. Digital terrestrial television (DTTV, DTT, or DTTB) is a technology for terrestrial television, in which television stations broadcast television content in a digital signal, digital format. Jan Bohdan Wejchert (; 5 January 1950 – 31 October 2009) was a Polish businessman and media mogul. He had a net worth of $1.3 billion (Forbes) Wejchert was the co-founder of the ITI Group, one of Poland's largest media groups, as well as the co-founder and co-owner of the TVN television network. A multiplex or mux, also known as a bouquet, is a grouping of program services as interleaved data packets for broadcast over a network or modulated multiplexed medium, particularly terrestrial broadcasting. Television in Poland was introduced on an experimental basis in 1937. It was state owned, and was interrupted by the Second World War in 1939. Television returned to Poland in 1952 and for several decades was controlled by the communist government. Colour television was introduced in Poland in 1971.
