T-24 Tank
The T-24 was a Soviet medium tank built in 1931. Only twenty four were built, and none saw combat. This was the first tank produced at the KhPZ factory in Kharkov, which was later responsible for the very successful BT series, T-34 and T-54 Soviet tanks. The T-24's suspension was used successfully in the Soviet Union's first purpose-built artillery tractors. The T-24's main armament was a 45 mm gun. It had a ball-mount 7.62 mm DT machine gun in the hull, another in the turret, and a third in a secondary turret atop the main turret. The tank was well-armoured for its time, but the engine and transmission had problems. Production history A tank design bureau was established at the Kharkov Locomotive Factory (KhPZ) in Kharkov, Soviet Ukraine, in 1928. The first tank project of the factory was the T-12 (or T-1-12). The M24 Chaffee (officially Light Tank, M24) was an American light tank used during the later part of World War II; it was also used in post–World War II conflicts including the Korean War, and by the French in the War in Algeria and the First Indochina War. In British service it was given the service name Chaffee after the United States Army General Adna R. Chaffee Jr., who helped develop the use of tanks in the United States armed forces. T24 Machine Gun
The T24 machine gun was a prototype reverse engineered copy of the German MG 42 general-purpose machine gun developed during World War II as a possible replacement for the Browning Automatic Rifle and M1919A4 for infantry squads. The T24 was chambered for the .30-06 Springfield cartridge. Background German weapons designers adopted a philosophy during World War II of making guns which could be more efficiently manufactured. The MG 42 was a prime example. When US soldiers first saw the MG 42 it was ridiculed for its use of stamped steel parts, until it was realized how much quicker and more cheaply guns of this type could be manufactured. The 7.2-Inch Demolition Rocket, also known as the T37, was a rocket developed and used by the United States military during World War II. Derived from the "Mousetrap" anti-submarine rocket, it was intended for use in demolishing concrete bunkers and fortifications, and saw use from August 1944. Development The 7.2-Inch Demolition Rocket was developed by Section L of the National Defense Research Committee, located at Caltech, in late 1943 as a modification of the existing "mousetrap" (7.2-Inch ASW Rocket) rocket for use against heavily fortified ground targets. Kitachō Station
is a passenger railway station located in the city of Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by JR Shikoku and has the station number "T24". WEG T 24
The Classes T 23 and T 24 are diesel railbuses which were procured by the Württemberg Railway Company (WEG) and then operated by the Westerwald Railway (WEBA) until 2009 on the Daade Valley Railway and now belong to the Krumbach IGEBA engineer society railway. The WEG had the two railbuses built in 1968 at Gmeinder and Auwärter for working the branch line from Nürtingen to Neuffen. They were powered by two Büssing engines with a power of 154 kW (210 PS) each. Each motor drove an axle via a Voith 501 drive. Their control system enabled them to be used as a pair. The two new railbuses hauled heavy limestone trains between a quarry near Neuffen and a cement works in Nürtingen. In order to simplify shunting operations, the WEG fitted the two railbuses and the two end wagons of the limestone trains with Scharfenberg couplers.
