T. K. Rama Rao
T. K. Rama Rao (7 October 1929 – 10 November 1988) was an Indian novelist of Kannada language, Kannada literature. He became popular in the early 1970s when his book ''Bangaaradha Manushya'' was made into a hit movie in the Kannada film industry. It inspired many youths to leave the city and return to their villages to look after their ancestral land. He won the Karnataka Sahitya Academy. award. Many of his works are detective novels, which sold millions of copies. Biography Rao was born in a Madhwa Brahmins, Madhwa family in Chitradurga district, Hosadurga, Karnataka. He was the second child of T. Krishnamurthy and Nagamma. His father was a railway stationmaster, who died of a heart attack when TK Ramarao was 18 years old. Rao left his education to take care of his mother and six brothers and sisters. Hosadurga
Hosadurga is a town in the Chitradurga district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Karnataka. It is the Taluk centre of the tehsil with the same name. Geography Hosadurga is located in Karnataka, India, with an average elevation of 739 meters (2424 feet) above sea level. Demographics As of the 2011 India census, Hosadurga has a population of 28,370. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Hosadurga has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%, with a male literacy rate of 76% and a female literacy rate of 70%. In Hosadurga, 12% of the population is under seven years of age. Industries 1) Hosadurga also had a strong cement industry in the 1990s, but many factories have closed over time due to shortages of limestone. ''Himapatha'' is a 1995 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film directed by Rajendra Singh Babu and produced by Rockline Venkatesh. The film stars Vishnuvardhan, Suhasini and Jaya Prada. The film was widely popular for the songs composed by Hamsalekha upon release. The film was extensively shot in Shimla and Bijapur. It is based on the Kannada novel of the same name, by T. K. Rama Rao. Plot The plot revolves around a photographer Aravind (Dr. Vishnuvardhan) of Kannada Prabha. He works in Bijapur. He is in love with Sumithra (Suhasini). One day, Kittanna, the editor of Kannada Prabha gives him an offer to take the photos of avalanche occurrences in Shimla. Kittanna wants to send those photos to National Geographic Magazine.
