T. J. D. Campbell
Thomas James Duncan Campbell (6 April 1922 – 20 October 1989) was a Singaporean college administrator and brigadier-general who served as the Director, General Staff of the Singapore Defence Force between 1968 and 1979. Early Years Campbell was born on the 6 April 1922 to Percival Joachim Duncan Campbell and Inez Vivienne Ramage Miles. Military career Campell served in the Singapore Volunteer Corps during the Second World War, and was commissioned into active service in 1950. He was one of the first leaders of the Singapore Army, having held the equidistant command of the Chief of Singapore Volunteer Corps during the late 1950s to 1965 and then as Chief of the People's Defence Force from 1965 to 1970. Kelmscott
Kelmscott is a village and civil parish on the River Thames in West Oxfordshire, about east of Lechlade in neighbouring Gloucestershire. Since 2001 it has absorbed Little Faringdon, which had been a separate civil parish. The 2011 Census recorded the merged parish's population as 198. Kelmscott Manor Kelmscott Manor is a Cotswold stone house, built in about 1570 during the Great Rebuilding of England and extended late in the 17th century. It was the country home of William Morris from 1871 until his death in 1896. Kirpa Ram Vij
Kirpa Ram Vij (1935 – 29 October 2022) was an Indian-born Singaporean civil servant, business executive, and brigadier-general. Vij was born in Hazara District in British India (now Pakistan) in 1935 and moved to Singapore after 1947. He graduated from the Raffles Institution in 1956. He later joined the Singapore Volunteer Corps as lieutenant in 1960. Before becoming the Director of General Staff, Vij has served in the civil service and was the Director of the Singapore Command and Staff College. He became a brigadier-general and was head of the SAF between 1970 and 1974. After leaving the SAF, Vij became the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of National Development between 1974 and 1975, then the Singapore Ambassador to Egypt between 1975 and 1979 and, Head of Training at the Civil Service Institute until 1981. Goh Keng Swee
Goh Keng Swee (; 6 October 1918 – 14 May 2010), born Robert Goh Keng Swee, was a Singaporean politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore between 1973 and 1985. Kelmscott, Western Australia
Kelmscott is a southeastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the local government area of the City of Armadale. It is southeast of Perth along the Albany Highway. Kelmscott was one of four initial townsites established in the Swan River Colony. It was named after Kelmscott, Oxfordshire, the birthplace of the first Anglican clergyman in the colony, Thomas Hobbes Scott (1783–1860). The suburb of Kelmscott is bisected by the Canning River. On the western side of the river is the flat coastal plain upon which most of Perth is situated. The chief of Defence Force is the head of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), who holds the rank Lieutenant-General or Vice-Admiral. The position was created in 1974 as Chief of the General Staff, with the appointment of Winston Choo, before changing to its current name in May 1990.
